Much as I'd love to see it, the engineering challenges involved with getting a 1:1 scale Gundam to walk render the whole idea unfeasible (not that the Japanese aren't crazy enough to try, of course). And this is before getting into all the safety issues.

Now, having a 1:1 Gundam take a knee, hold out the torch sconce, and have a runner ignite it before the Gundam raises the thing high would probably work no problem. I'd be happy with just that.

Glancing over the submitted ideas on the website, the four people are mainly tackling the weight problem. The 'unfeasible' things that >>14756600 pointed out WERE unfeasible until we made some great discoveries about physics, acquired the right materials and made the processes required just economical enough to justify funding.

Some things may be unfeasible forever (or at least in the foreseeable future), or even outright impossible, but we won't know until we try figuring things out.
