I really like Active Raid, but now i'm just repeat myself in doing appreciations.

Glossary update for episode 11

>Space Elevator
Explains how a space elevator works, the economical and safety benefits of it compared to regular rocket transports to space, why it needs to be built on an Equator nation like Carupanuba, the advantage of carbon nanotubes, and that the prototype satellite was situated above Takao Tower to demonstrate the functionality and perfect control of the computer systems
>sixth-generation carbon nanotubes
Just recently developed in the Active Raid-world. Can now be mass-produced thanks to massive improvements to manufacturing machines. Most of the machines are produced in Kyoto Uji City in a factory named Konporimu Uji, which accounts for 98.6% of all domestic production. It has gained enough attention to become a strategic export commodity.
>Tokyo City Summit
It's a meeting of the G8 countries. After the third quicksand phenomenon sinking half of Tokyo and the LOGOS incident, Inagi lobbied the government to allow him to propose his plans for the future of urban development.
>Fisherman Incident
Refers to Dog's bankrobbery's in episode 9 of season 1.
>Naganuma's suicide
The former governor of Tokyo was blamed for Naganuma's death.
>Liko App
Well, it's Liko.
>Counterweight
Necessary to make the space elevator prototype not fall out of its position when it generates its nanotubes.
>Cloud-based apps
Explains that the majority of information is stored online.
>Bennu
The trojan horse that Mythos installed in all Liko-apps. It is classified as malware. Can take over the entire system it infected. Thought to have been completely purged by Mythos himself. It was necessary to bring it back temporarily to locate the Liko-app which copied the video file.

The reveal about Inagi was really well-handled since he isn't just some crazy bastard, he's got legitimate points about politics being fucked up, and we saw all the red tape that the cops have to go through in season 1.
>>
I gotta say, I think S2 has had a much stronger main plotline than S1. The first season was pretty fun, but when it came time for plot I didn't think it was too good, but here it's great.
>>
>>14753145
I would say that it worked better than S1's main arc, although at first sight the series felt superficially more episodic since they didn't have Mythos watching the action every other episode.
>>
>>14753815

Im really glad the mind device wasn't wasted
>>
>>14752354
probably no one talks about this because of the "toku is not /m/!!!" mantra and everyone is busy shitposting the kamen rider general to even shitpost this show anyways
>>
>>14753815
It probably helps that this season builds on a lot of the stuff that the 1st one set up, and it decided to have a much stronger focus on Kuroki and the Boss rather than trying to give EVERYONE their moment
>>
>>14754304

I dunno, Id say the screen time is split mostly evenly. Kuroki only seems to stand out more because he's at the front of the plot with Inagi and Jiro but overall the rest of the unit still gets strong face time

I love the mecha parts and setting, but the characters ruin it for me.

It's clearly normalshit pandering, and I just can't sit through a police procedural slice of life.

I alsi can't stand the senseless yuri pandering in Regalia.

FYI, if it's not another Fukuda series, at least half of /m/ won't even be watching the show.

It's Brave series, complete trainwreck or bust...and we're not getting another Brave series.

Anime's popularity and normalization really was the death of decent mecha anime.

I liked the genre better when the only people who watched it were greasy neckbeards hiding from otaku lynchmobs in their parents' basement.

At least the genre was still decent.
>>
>>14757982
There were only two times where Active Raid 2nd had an A plot and a B plot in which the A plot was not directly tied to the overarching plot of Inagi trying to gain power with the help of Bird though.
Those would be episode 7, in which the A plot was that the girls of unit 8 and 9 apprehended the illegal waifu-porn ring, and the B plot is that Inagi prepares a stealth-suit for Atin in the following episode.
And then episode 9, where the A plot was that unit 8 has to apprehend the Spyder while the B plot was about Inagi showing to the rest of Tokyo that he can handle a worker uprising he secretly staged beforehand.
>>
>>14758053
I think in episode 9 that Spyder was more the B plot. He turned himself in when they axed him.

Nothing really, the only thing matters if normals, or casuals in the West, end up liking it.
We reverse induct the factors that made the normals like it, and then we hate those factors fervently.

On the other hand, Unit 9 was pretty much a giant waste, Asami didn't get to develop beyond being a joke character and they basically just had them permanently move to Tokyo and just hang around. Same for the 2 new girls and the whole 'civilian contractors' thing.

It was a good decision to keet the focus on Kuroki and the main plot but they shouldn't have bothered adding so many new elements if they had no intention of using them.

How the hell did they manage to make a split cour show with a second cour that was actually good?
>>

It's done by a group of madmen.
Well overall reception in japan isn't as good as you think. It's not producing enough numbers for the company to think it is actually "good".

Reception for the show itself is good. How much that translates into actual music CD sales and plastic figurines is another question though.

It's not a great seller (as in, over 5k or over 10k), thus not a very good IP for future commercial exploitation, but compared to various total flops that sell below 1,000 units the results were average to okay (price point was higher than usual) for the industry rather than grossly substandard.

And now for the final glossary update

>Kobari's daughter
Daughter of that train guy in episode 7 of season 1.
>Low orbit and medium orbit
Explains that low orbit is around 2'000 km, and medium orbit up to 36'000 km, and that satellites need to be put in medium orbit.
>airper
An air peer-to-peer confidential communication system developed by the willwear association. Highly encrypted and should function in any situation, no matter how bad the environment is.
>Sister
As was mentioned in episode 12 of season 1, Mythos has a sister. She was initially recorded to be among those who commit suicide in the Fruit of Tragedy-sect.
>Kick Dash Iota Full Version
The most ultimate superkick of Fine Familia, refined after several versions, now focused on an explosive pin-point instant. Of course requires unlocking the sublimation mode.
>Pandora's Box
Explains the Greek origin of the box of Pandora, and that according to mythology, at the bottom of it lied hope. Does also mention that in the original story, it wasn't really a box, but a pot.
>Complete Annihilation Ram Function! Susanoo
Secretly installed by the association in the Falcon Flight Unit. Doesn't allow for fine control, but it of course vastly increases punching power.
>Monkey
Hayashida of the National Public Security theorized in episode 11 of season 1 that the Logos structure was kinda built after the story of Momotaro, who was helped by a dog, a pheasant and a monkey.

For whatever reason, they call it a box.
Probably because each volume comes with four episodes instead of the usual two. Costs as much as two average anime BD-volumes.

so I suppose lower sales at a higher price is to be expected. You can effectively double it's numbers to get a sense of ranking

He's ranked under her. I've sorta assumed he started out at street level and worked himself upwards while Yamabuki went from officer school straight an officer posting, which would explain how Yamabuki manages to outrank him even though she's considerably younger.

I liked the extra characters. It made the show feel more grounded when there was a large supporting cast that showed that the world was more than just the guys personally involved in the main plot.
