But her character is great because of what happens to her, the way she dies , and her replacement.

She's an intriguing character, so desperate for attention that her reaction to Leina's death is frankly shocking. Her existence, unlike the existence of most modern loli moe, is not to pander to people. There was no-one that Sunrise was fucking conscious of that liked this shit in 1987. The whole NEET 'otaku' subculture of buying bishoujo figures and dakimakura and wanking 24/7 instead of getting a job didn't exist.

In other words, she couldn't be farther from "moe pedo cancer". If you had watched the stupid show like everyone else - which, by the fucking way, would earn you the right to at least have an opinion, in a way that looking at 'caps' does not - you would know that she is written in a class aside from modern 'loli' characters.

She's clingy and cutesy but she's also deeply psychotic and tries to murder someone over Judau. Her need for attention and 'onii-chan' is not made to get your dick hard, it's made to exemplify the fact that she is tragedy personified. She's shown being tortured into a sort of 'sleeper personality' that Glemy activates to steel her for battle. She's a human tool being exploited for Newtype powers, with no regard to her sanity or childhood (she's ten). She's a fucking CRITICISM of child abuse, the absolute farthest you could get from pedophile-pandering.

For all the pedos that wish they could hurt children, there is the truth that life != anime and that little girls do not want or like to be fondled like in modern anime. Real underaged sex is often tied into criminal networks of prostitution and death.

And Puru is sitting there reminding you that that is the reality. In the end, she only had a few short weeks with Judau and the crew. That was the extent of her happiness.

There were no widespread discussion channels or meet-ups or media outlets for otaku lolicon. Puru's inclusion in the story of ZZ is not a case of pandering.

The best part is that despite whatever the motivations for her character may be, Puru is undeniably better developed and used than modern day loli characters. Her story was beautiful and an expression of why ZZ has so many hidden gems that the cynical mainstream anime fan base refuses to acknowledge or even give a chance.
