Heya, /m/. So I don't know about the rest of you, but if there's two things I love it's GIANT ROBOTS and Tabletop RPGs. One of my fondest dreams is to be in a game where I can play a dashing pilot in a robot. Unfortunately, things like Silcore and Cthulhutech are basically unplayable.
So I went and made my own d100 based Universal Generic System: https://mega.nz/#!SV020YiJ!Zy28DOnm6d3exKmakzW4RCJ5ZDhOpZADE0eA_pjNLnk

Bump for an awesome thread!
The System is intended to be highly customizable, and comes with a variety of optional rules that can be added or removed to give a GM the desired feeling of chunkiness.
There's also indepth mecha, weapon, and armor creation rules.

I don't know GURPS' spaceship rules well enough to say they're good for making giant robots, but they're there, and GURPS is usually pretty good.
BRP has a mecha supplement that I like a lot, but it's no longer for sale and is really hard to find these days.

You ever try out Mekton Z op?
Oh Shit Nigger
might have to try this out soon if I can get my friends over.
>>14726099
Mekton Zeta has numerous, numerous problems. Besides being data, All combat essentially runs on Dexterity, making it trivial.
>>14725900
OP is god's mecha-loving prophet
>>14725900
There's actually a couple easier to play mecha games out there: Chris Perrin's Mecha and Battle Century G. The former focuses on a more abstract bullseye map and is focused more capture points so you can have stuff like recurring villains easy. Meanwhile, BCG is just straight up Super Robot Wars.
I have a migraine right now so I haven't read over your rules yet, OP, but thanks a lot. Has there been any play testing yet? I could try to run something if there hasn't. Though the best advice for a mecha game I can really give is don't go overboard with the customization and crunch: people already have Mekton Z (well if anybody could actually figure how to play the damned thing), GURPS, and ORE Mecha for that.
I've kinda considered maybe doing a Gundam hack of Apocalypse WorldGundam Galaxy, but I'm not sure if anybody else would really want that.

As far as Mekton Z goes, look for an anon named Wong he seems to understand it pretty well. He even seems to get the ATM which makes no sense
>>14725900
Typo on page 15. Circus and Gunner both affect ranged weapons.

>somewhere within the depths of the internet is the one person who actually knows how to work these convoluted rules
>you must track them down like an ancient monk bearing lost knowledge
HOLY SHIT, OP really is doing god's work.
As a sort of Preview for the next version, here's a chapter header.

How would your system handle multi-pilot combiners like Combattler V or power ranger megazords?
>>14730121
I originally tried to do that, but after a whole lot of debate and discussion and testing it turns out that multiple pilots in one thing just isn't fun for all the players. I wanted to, by god I wanted to, but It just didn't work out.
Gonna have to get it later tonight. Sweet looking though.

Lookin into it OP, thanks. me and the bros are gonna have a ball
>>14725900
Oh shit, I'll have to give this a go next time I run a campaign. Looking pretty baller, though, OP.

And here's the new version, with better(?) formatting and more rule clarifications.
