Best mechanical designer of the decade.

I would be 100% behind Gothicmades (though still considering them to be inferior to Mortar Headds) if not for those fuckin' arm joints. It's so odd looking and distracting, my eyes go right to them. If they just had straight arms the whole thing would look so much better.

Machine Messiah Yen Xing is pretty similar to a Gothicmade but no one whines about it because setting-wise it's a whole different machine from a typical Mortar Headd that represents values and aesthetics from a different era.

I like Nagano's style a lot but hate how he doesn't really want to contribute to the anime industry like work on more projects with others. If it weren't for his ivory tower business practices I feel like he would be much more well known, at least here in the west cause I heard he's already fairly popular in Japan.

Can you blame him after all the shit he went through with Sunrise's producers? Not to mention that modern anime has no place for someone with Nagano's more worldly sensibilities and would rather focus on Isekai shit.
