I always thought the designs in this series were too fucking cool to have absolutely no detailed images available. I don't think I've even seen a magazine spread for poor Bellcross.

Obvious one out the gate Age and Bellcross are clearly Hercules who was likewise tasked with his own 12 labors.

1. Slay the Nemean Lion.

2. Slay the nine-headed Lernaean Hydra.

4. Capture the Erymanthian Boar.

5. Clean the Augean stables in a single day.

6. Slay the Stymphalian Birds.

7. Capture the Cretan Bull.

9. Obtain the girdle of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons.

10. Obtain the cattle of the monster Geryon.

11. Steal the apples of the Hesperides.

Im to lazy to go into a complete comparisson of the labors between Bellcross and Herc but a few of them are pretty obvious

His Nodos form is called Lernaea.

The asshole brothers

Meleagros was Meleager an Argonaut. The fates predicted he would perish in a great fire, much like age predicted he would get wrecked when he blew up Jupiter. Tragically the anime one survives the whole series.

He was actually tasked with finding and sending out heroes to hunt the Calydonian Boar. (Greece aparantly has a huge boar problem) And he was actually the one who sent out Dianara to find Age the last of the heroic tribe. In addition to the heroes he also chose Atalanta a women he loved to go as well.

Anyways he killed a bunch of dudes who messed with his bird including his own brothers and children of Althaea whom in turn kicked off the whole firey death thing

His brother Atalantes is the aforementioned Atalana. So yeah. Ew. She was the chick who only would marry the guy who could beat her in a foot race but couldn't resist the golden apples that her opponent Hippomenes would drop during the race.

Their flag ship is called the Althaea, whom as we established basically killed Meleagros and was the daughter of King Thesius and Eurythemis

I don't think I have to say much about this one.

The Theban hero and companion of hercules Iolaus. He aided Hercules in many of his labors and any fujos who watched the show will be happy to know that they where probably defiantly making out. Hero also gave him his sloppy seconds Megara (the one from the disney movie) because the sight of her made him flip his shit because of that time he went murder happy and killed his own kids.

Iolaus had a daughter with her they named Leipephilene. Semi related Im really happy copy paste is a thing because some of this names are a bitch to spell.

Another straight forward one

Dhianeila is Deianira, the second wife of Hercules.

A daughter of Althaea and half sister of Meleagear. Herc saved her by river bed from being married to Achelous. But In, uh, less family friendly versions she's the daughter of Dexamenus whom Herc rapes and then promises to return to marry later.

Either way she is a central figure in the death of Hercules. After the defeat of Nessus a centaur (he was in the disney movie) the dying horseman tells her his blood will act as a love potion and that if it where placed in a cape the demi god would fall madly in love with her.

Myth Dei wasn't smart and bought the story and after presenting Hercules with the cape and when he put it on it burnt him, driving him mad and to jump into a funeral pyre. In despair she too committed suicide.

Zinv's power set just gets crazy as you look more into it. I mainly brought it up because Zinv and Bellcross are actually pretty similar in a lot of ways. I like both of them pretty equally.

Honestly it's unlikely either could beat the other. Bellcross can survive the sort of shit ZINV can dish out, we know that, but ZINV survived fucking reality collapsing and it getting written out of the combined world (yeah, it got written out of existence and was still fucking there) so I doubt Bellcross can keep it down forever. Either they'd go on until Bellcross goes berserk enough to pull out absurd powers we never got a chance to see, or they deescalate until the fight ends.

The Nodos were the worst part of the series. Age is not shown to be challenged even once, nor even hurt once until they fight Yuuti after she gets hyped up. Even when they end up in the non-dimension, Age instantly knows the way out. It's really boring when the protagonist doesn't suffer any challenges. The drones and mecha used by the Argonaut to defend itself were far more interesting but they didn't get any detail.

actually having rewatched it recently the other Nodos do a pretty decent job of putting a fight up against Bellcross. Yeah he IS that ridiculously hax and broken but the other ones still manage to toss em around a good bit. This isn't some shit like star driver where at most they push him down on one knee

what's more the fights aren't really set up like the typical one enemy vs one good guy bag. There's a lot of shit going on beyond the nodos that really add tension to the show.
