Funasaka relieving his stress.

I bet 90% of it is caused by Asami.

Funasaka is so dreamy.

>>14698423
This was a really good episode. Funasaka and the Spider both looked really cool, and I realised that it was all Inagi's keikaku going doori when he got up on stage to speak

Why Funasaka is so based ?

Because he watched anime and tokusatsu when he was a shounen, and he knew what he wanted to be.

I really don't like Inagi being the big bad, even if it's not badly executed its very predictable.

Me too. This kind of characters who want to change the political system are always depicted as antagonists in narrative, however, in the case, it become a bit 'too predictable.

Glossary update for episode 9

>Umeda Electrical Engineering
A manufacturer of electronics components for aerospace technology, which developed from the WW2-aircraft parts industry.
>Show Town
Landscape area where the goal is to keep low-rise buildings and the environment as close as possible to the showa era.
>ICPO
International Criminal Police Organization. A collection of countries exchanging their police data to combat crime.
>Bali Corporation (probably meant to be the Barry Corporation)
American precision equipment manufacturer for telecommunication and mining. Their stuff is popular enough that they have opened up an HQ in Tokyo.
>Independent Unit
If the Third Mobile Assault unit were part of the metropolitan police, it would allow them to act more independently and with less regulations.
>Broad Axe
Explains the origin of the broad axe and gives a general description of what they look like. Mentioned in the tale of Kintaro.
>Vibratory Tomahawk
Self-explanatory. Vibrates at the edges and thus increases cutting efficiency. It's classified as a small axe item, and thus is a tomahawk, not a broad axe like Funasaka said, but eh, if he wants to call it like that, no biggie.
>Doryuu Broad-Axe
Funasaka chose that name because it's cool, and it represents his anger. He likes to chop things with it when he's stressed.
>Mode II
The Koutetsujin Nanakamado is a powerful heavy unit to remove heavy debris. The added batteries at the back of it allows the Koutetsujin Nanakamado to be even more powerful. Just like the Strike Interceptor Falcon Mode, the Mode 2 Koutetsujin has a burst mode to unleash its full potential.
>Throw
What you shout when you throw things. The original description is of course a Japanese word, this is just the translation.

So, if you see Funasaka walking around with an axe, you should be extra careful around him.

How do we stop MAL?
>>
>>14707920
No need for it.
If the little kids on MAL are too "mature" to enjoy fun anime for kids and adults, then it's them that are missing out on it.
>>
>>14707920
I like using MAL to keep track of everything I've watched, and keep up with some of my friends that are into anime, but the rest of the site is cancer, goddamn.

>>14707920
Write a positive review and vote for positive reviews. Otherwise, just pray or move on.

Animatetimes article about Active Raid with the voice actors talking about their favorite scenes and what they thought so far of the anime.
For example, Hachijou's voice actor liked the part where Bird seduced Bossu's little sister in episode 10 of season 1.

Plus special guest appearance of the dude inside the Strike Interceptor armor doing chop strikes and stuff.

Police in the year 2035 uses power armor to fight criminals using power armor to commit crimes.
It's light-hearted fun, it has sexy character designs by Tosh, the CG is good, the fights are okay, characters are quirky and hammy.

It's one of those shows where the staff definitely loves working on it.
>>
>>14713488
>It's one of those shows where the staff definitely loves working on it.
Definitely true. The first season didn't make any waves in the market whatsoever so I theorize they got a second season simply because everyone involved wanted to do a second season.
>>
>>14713719
Well, it is a Bandai-sponsored series, and the show itself is more popular in Japan than here in the west.
Nothing really outstanding, but nothing bad either. It's one of those upper middle tier series. Good quality, nice script, does that what it is supposed to do quite well.
>>
>>14713719
The second season was probably planned and approved before the first season aired, everybody has just decided that split cours is a safer business strategy these days.
>>
>>14714371
>>14713719
S2 was announced before S1 started airing.

>>14714371
This is true, but it's interesting how sales have been modest yet still higher than at least a couple of other shows with more positive buzz. So I guess it's getting some cult appeal in its own right.

>>
>>14707920

Oh man. I know right? Comet Lucifer was great with it's completely comprehensible plot, and totally not underdeveloped characters that amount to nothing. That shit was GREAT.

Oh, and the CG totally wasn't the quality of some college students art project. Yep, totally.

I feel the same about Active Raid, dude. I totally remember the names of the 8 fucking cast members that each got an individual character arc exploring there not at all archetypical personalities to an interesting level that sparks meaningful character development. And man, the main villain was a fucking bowl cut dude.

I never knew Douchey hair could be such a great character. And what about that random little sister hologram? Such a character.

Lord almighty, Active Raid threads are such an anomaly on /m/ dude. It's like the show is so fucking uninteresting not even people who actually browse /m/ will touch it. It's so mindblowing to watch people actually say this show is good at all in any way whatsoever.

It's like a fever dream.
>>
>>14721345
I was pointing out that active raid is considered just as bad of a show as Comet Lucifer, which is fucking horrifying considering the only positives I can think of were when the baker lady went crazy with her bread shotgun and pie grenades or whatever it was again.
Disliking AR is fine and all, but it's no where near as bad as CL.

>>
>>14721439
Those falling robots were cute.
>>
>>14721345
Comet Lucifer is fundamentally flawed. It reached for the starts yet came crashing down. It did require a lot more development to match the expectations it established.

Active Raid has much lower ambitions and has remained true to them. Those do not include having huge amounts of character development for every single character, because that's not how the show is structured.

Based on your argument, absolutely every anime should treat its characters in exactly the same way, without regard for different goals or different methods.
>>
>>14721855
f*or the stars
>>
>>14707920
You have 10,000 people rating Active Raid and 23,000 people rating Comet Lucifer, and the audiences might not even overlap. The fact that Comet Lucifer has all but the same score as Active Raid S1 just shows that people think Comet Lucifer was worse.
There's no legitimate comparing the two scores.

Damn, I really wish 4chan could even bother to learn how MAL's scoring works.
>>
>>14721876
13K more people watching Comet Lucifer to Active Raid is reason for alarm. Also any sizeable amount of people rating Comet Lucifer as anything other than garbage.
>>
>>14721876

I don't think he was comparing them so much as he was using them both as an example
>>
>>14722038
Just accept not everyone has your taste.

You wouldn't like that extra 13k if they turned out to be here just to shit down your throat about how Active Raid is an awful show, would you?

More viewers just opens the floodgates for the LCD to lower the level of quality of discourse.

>>14722537
I think Kuroki was more affected by Inagi's underhandedness than Bossu.
Poor guy really looked up to him.
>>
>>14725476
It was the emotional involvement. To Bossu Inagi was that one that got away. To Kuroki Inagi was his idol and role model. Hell, Kuroki's sense of justice is based on his idealized vision of Inagi's
>>
>>14722038
>Also any sizeable amount of people rating Comet Lucifer as anything other than garbage.
There's also a larger percentage of people rating Comet Lucifer with a 4 and below (20.7%) than there are people rating Active Raid with a 4 and lower (19.7%).
So more who saw Comet Lucifer thought it was below average than those who saw Active Raid.

But face it, Active Raid is incredibly niche and unappealing to the vast majority of, well, basically any demographic, so it's pretty obvious why more people were interested in watching Comet Lucifer in the first place. The start of CL was at least interesting, unlike AR which was only appealing to the hardcore anime watchers used to the tropes it has. Hell, more people dropped Active Raid (22%) than Comet Lucifer (19%), which just shows that more people just couldn't get into it, which is understandable.

Anyway, the more people you get the higher the rating will inevitably be, regardless of the quality of the show. The fact of the matter is that CL drew a larger crowd than AR could despite being way worse in quality, which is reflected in its score. If the had the same size audience, CL would have a way lower score.
