GITS for the PS1

Any and all Front Missions if you're into tactical turn based action.

this
best animated portrayal of the Major, btw.

Nigger what? Gundam Online exists. It's all UC, and much of it is OYW units. Even has a fairly clunky slow mech feel.
>>
is there any good turn based giant robot combat games?
>>
>>14696027
Front Mission, Super Robot Wars, G Generation, probably some more just on the tip of my tongue.
>>
Your PC can probably emulate the PS1 armored cores well enough, they are all excellent. The graphics and sounds are a little simple of course, but everything else is at least as detailed and complete as you would expect from a modern game if not more so.

My 4-years old laptop can emulate Armored Core 2 well. Not sure about later PS2 games though

If you want tactical there is ZoE Fist of Mars, and Brave Saga if you don't mind japanese.

If you want rpgs, there is Xenogears and MS Saga: New Dawn.

Project Nimbus is early access but has a lot of potential imo. Gameplay is pretty Ace Combat, if Ace Combat used mecha. Lots of Gundam references too.

To the point where it feels like too much, honestly. Still fun to play though.

How has nobody mentioned EDF 4.1? Just came out this year and has /m/ultiplayer in a cheesy b-movie film. Even the support class bring out futuristic tanks and helicopters. There's power armor, and skintight angelic armor for the girl flyer class. You even fight kaiju and can summon and pilot a mecha. It's fucking amazing (albeit not super high fidelity graphics). Even has local COOP on same screen if you have a bro over.
>>
>>14696002
>>14696463
What takes me out of the game(based on my experience with infinity) is the fact that i'm the only one in the entire fucking world who uses a mech. i want mech on mech fighting
>>

For what purpose?
>>
>>14695770

But pic unrelated?
>>
>>14696050

I wouldn't say that about the original AC. You never really get too much of an idea what's going on, why Raven does what it does beyond the fact that it's getting paid, and other stuff. It's everything after that explains the world.
>>
>>14697034

Gundam Online / MSGO recently opens Taiwan server.
It has no IP restriction so you don't have to use VPNs or anything, it's free.
It also has some key differences compared to the JP server like no faction restrictions, etc.

Expect latency issues though since you'll be going half across the globe to connect to the server.
>>
>>14695974
Different anon. UCGO private server was great but replacing suits were super annoying. You either macro weapon crafting or do boring PVE. If only suits never get destroyed and you could just do battle all the time it would've been awesome.

>>14696020
That shit was nice too but getting a fully kitted out suit was RNG shit.
>>
>>14697304

I would think it would run better purely because a PS4 has much stronger hardware than a PS3. The reason the PS3 always was weaker than the 360 version was because the 360 had more ram so the games always ran better on 360.
>>
>>14697304
Watch as they give us V. Not even Verdict Day, just V.
>>
>>14696002
how strong does your pc have to be to play this
>>
>>14697392
>It also has some key differences
Is getting the gold blueprints still a pain in the ass?
>>
>>14697436
They still have the GP Gasha, but for the actual difficulty in getting a gold print I think it's still pretty much the same.
It's still in the low-level meta though.
>>
>>14697416
>I would think it would run better purely because a PS4 has much stronger hardware than a PS3.

That's not how it works, anon.
PSNow is just a streaming service... They're literally playing the game on a PS3 of their own and sending you the video of it.
>>
>>14696080
Anon, I don't see any motherfucking ACs and you know what that means.
>>
>all this intraspecific warfare
Where do I sign up to eradicate the ayy menace with fellow /m/en?

The Mechwarrior 4 games are cool, same with Mechwarrior 3 if you can get it working (good luck on that one)

Heavy Gear 2 is a great action game with mech tuning. I kept an XP/Win 98 box for years just to be able to play it and the Mechwarrior games.
MissionForce: CyberStorm is a good turn based strategy mech games. You could customize your mechs and grow better pilots.

Oh, so it's not like the PS2 remasters they do for PS4.
>>
>>14695770
I recommend Stardust Galaxy Warriors and Stardust Vanguards.

Galaxy Warriors is a coop schmup, Vanguards is an arena local PvP game.
Though you have to get some friends on your couch to play those games.

Mechwarrior Online.
>>

Noitu Love Devolution (which is getting Wii U and 3DS ports this month, as well). One of the playable characters is an android, so this fits.

There was one but it's not very good.

Early UC Gundam is a terrible setting to put an mmo game in, no matter the genre.

I'd go for Warring Space States, actually.
>UC 0130/40-something
>colonies have developed a habit of participating in minor skirmishes against each other for various economical and political reasons
>You play a pilot working for a PMC willing to fight for any colony in lieu of Federation concern for their well being. Your primary mobile suit is a Gundam F90. You lead a team of other MS. You and all members of your team can switch/upgrade MS as you see fit
>make "donations" to the Federation government or Anaheim Electronics and get various High performance types, like a Silhouette Gundam or a Hardygun, or some original designs, like another formula unit (F92/3/4/whatever)
>face off against other PMCs (players) fighting for other colonies.

>>14697436
GP gacha, roll as often as you have the cash rather than looting GS tickets.
>>
>>14697004
I played it when it was released and I didn't like how the mech mode didn't really feel like there was a need for it to be humanoid shaped. You weren't using any weapons that needed hands or arms to operate
>>
>>14698039
It means lasers, very big lasers. I'm not sure battle 7 has any projectile weapons anyway.
>>
>>14696002
I didn't like it. I wanted to really badly since we don't get very much mech stuff on pc anymore, but the mech just seemed incredibly underwhelming. Tying upgrades to specific tasks was also really dumb especially since the game became incredibly frustrating without them.

Sometimes I want to reinstall it just to give it another shot. Maybe someday I will.
>>
>>14696822
How is the single player? I usually don't touch multiplayer modes. Is the SP like the MP but with bots?
>>
>>14700331
Astebreed's a pretty unique shmup. Takes a little getting used to though, since you have to block in addition to dodging.
>>
>>14704539
That was a good doujin game.
If ace combat things are /m/ then check out Raider's Sphere 4th.

It was simple good fun. Still like the Battle Engine concept. Bad guy vehicles were visually well-differentiated, and their superweapons were cool.

It only seems that way because they just ripped shit off from the previous games that they read on wikipedia
>Oh one of the games had space elevators! Thats cool, lets do that!
>There were mechas that ran on cow shit, lets make terrorists use them!
>Some of the games let you get out of the mechas! Lets do that in the most halfassed and forced way possible!

Gun Hazard was a completely alternate universe too so they just fucked things up

Square recently made some MMO arena shooter where you play as cute anime girls and beat the shit out of eachother in customizable mecha

Looks pretty interesting desu, maybe itd be worth the setup if I could get people from /m/ to play
>>
>>14704509
Sorry for the late reply friend. I'm one player mode you're the only "player character" class but the nameless soldiers that help are actually fairly effective so it's not a Dynasty Warriors situation. It's perfectly playable and fun alone.
