What was your first /m/ show?
Mine was pic related back in 2010. A lot of people dislike Frontier but it has a huge nostalgia factor to me.
Mazinger Z
>>14691952
Voltron, in terms of regular uncut anime Evangelion
>>14691963
this, also roboshit
I want to say Medabots way back in 2002(?) when it was airing but I barely actually saw any of it at that time due to it airing too late in the day for me to sit in for.
Evangelion is the first anime I actually took the time to sit all the way through, in 2007. (Was 14 at the time)
Seed.
I'm so ashamed.
>Mine was pic related
I'm so sorry
>>14691952
Mazinger, also does Gekko Kamen(centella) counts?
Eureka 7.
I also saw the Battletech cartoon but that's like asking for the first anime seen by a person which would be Pokemon 9 times out of 10.
>>14692049
It was my first Gundam tv series if that makes you feel better.
>>14692253
Why was King Kong on that show?
>>14692546
I barely remember it tho.
>>14691952
This show triggered a mighty need for more mecha.
Probably Patlabor. Memory's fuzzy on that front.I've just started Seed Destiny. God help me.
Gundam Wing. Incidentally I fucking hate Gundam Wing.
>>14692331
The first anime I specifically remember being such was whatever the hell Gatchaman was localized as. But I know I saw something even before that that was some ancient localized movie I'll never be able to find again.
Technically it's Transformers Armada, but I'm terms of a proper anime then Gundam SEED Destiny.
>>14691952
G1 formers re-aired
>>14691952
If airplanes are /m/ Area 88. If not LotGH
>>14691952
Betterman? Or the 4kids Escaflowne. I know I caught Betterman on Tech TV back in the day, but I'm not sure which I saw first. I'm sure saying Power Rangers is a cop-out.
>>14691952
Probably Laputa.
The French dub of Grendizer, "Goldorak," when it aired in Quebec I got to watch most of the series.I lived in northern New Brunswick and we could watch some of their TV channels. They also showed French dubs of Captain Harlock and Captain Future.
>>14691952
Gundam SEED. Me and my siblings liked it. We even watched Destiny, but my older sister did not like it IIRC.
Probably Astroboy in 1985 or so. Plus minus one year.
>>14691952
The Centurians: Power extreme, in broadest sense.
Otherwise- Code Geass.
The original Gundam series when it was on Toonami, became a fan, and played the video games. Watched Zeta when it came out on DVD here in the states (bought the set that came with the collectible pencil sharpeners), and just stuck with UC and Tomino mecha for a long time
Gurren Lagann in late 2011
Rented G1 Transformers videotapes at Blockbuster as a kid. For actual anime- Mobile Suit Gundam.I remember when the Gundam loses its head and Amuro saying that "it was just the main camera"

Failed to mention that I never owned cable as a kid, so whenever I had the chance to watch Toonami it was fucking mystical.
And I saw it censored and dubbed in brazilian portuguese way back in the 90s. After all the stuff I saw, still has a special place in my heart.
I remember having some faps. That's about it.
Not exactly sure what came first.

Gundam Wing in 2000 during toonami
>>14691952
Gungam Wing
>>14691952
G gundam. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Tranzor Z
technically first ever was the Chars counter attack movie. One of the first times I ever watched Adult Swim too BUT it was G Gundam that did it for me
>>14698824
I rented that at Blockbuster.
Its either Betterman or 0083. They aired at about the same time. 0083 really set the standards for what I see as quality animation though
TTGL
Probably Red Baron when I was like 8, but I remember watching things like Voltron or Gatchaman at a much younger age, and I think Beast Wars also counts.
voltron on some VHS my dad rented. to keep me entertained one afternoon.
>>14698846
I saw it back in its TV run. But yeah a blockbuster near me had a tranzor VHS that was an abridged version of the series iirc
