I also thought Gilbert was a genuinely compelling villain. Maybe that was just because he was voiced by Char, but still. I knew he had to be a villain, but his persuasion was really, really good. Until he asked Arthrun to pilot a Gundam with "666" in the model number, and revealed he had another GENESIS built in secret while he was talking about peace and just war.
