God Mazinger Chapter 1
I'll post a few images of it later on. I won't be dumping it all. It's a bit too long for that.

Pablo is lurking this thread. Be on your guards.
Does anybody think the anime has any chance of getting subs
>>14677313
> I’m not too experienced in cleaning so it would take a very long time to clean them right myself.
I don't mind. I'd prefer if you use that time to continue improving the translation instead. Manga isn't meant for digital screens so any attempt at cleaning should be absolutely professional, otherwise there is no point as you might actually damage the art.

Just so you super robot guys know
Your little spic/Pablo thing is worse than akemi/crackfag and you should be ashamed of that
Hi from the front page
>>14677595
>super robot
God Mazinger is a stone robot
>>14677316
>>14677439
Please don't sperg like you did in the Devil Knight thread ,xpearse. Some of these anons can actually help with your horribly fractured English. We'd rather have understandable translations than quick ones.
>God Mazinger is finally getting translated
Hell yeah motherfucker.
>>14677720
Shut the fuck up. If you've been around, you'd know I have been letting that guy help like with Saga.
>>14677439
I'll get on fixing those tomorrow. Thanks as usual.
>>14677410
In any case, I'd say it's more about reading it than having it in the grandest quality. I don't mind, either.
Do you guys think Ishikawa worked on this? Seems like this.
>>14677842
Dynamic Pro manga wasn't a one man job. You also had guys like Mitsuru Hiruta helping.
Jesus, that fucking ass.
I like the bad guy designs.
This guy.
Typical Nagai pervert stuff.

Why does he have magic powers? Because why the fuck not.

>>14677842
Yeah, those pages scream Ishikawa.
>>14677409
Maybe if Luurah gives it the time of day.
>>14678386
Who?
>>14678448
Oh, you know, the absolute madman that is subbing many various old shows as possible, regardless of actual quality.
https://luurah.wordpress.com/
>>14678478
But luurah has enough on his plate. Plus he only subs things that originally aired when he was a kid.
>>14678480
In fairness, he is almost done with Dai Apolon. On a related note, what is his stopping point for 80s shows? He's clearly not above doing Govarian (which was in 83, one year before God Mazinger).
>>14678503
As usual, gonna wait until you complete and fix your mistakes, good luck xpearse.
>>14678671
huh, happy scans released their version today with a newer version of the GM.
Hope xpearse drop this and focus on another manga like Z Mazinger.
>>14679391
>>14679391
Woah, they did. What's your take on it xpearse?
>>14679391
They noticed xpearse and decided to protect their release. Had they been too late, they would have lost the title to him.
>>14679391
Good to hear they're gonna do Queen Millenia
>>14679391
Before Z Mazinger, there's MazinSaga.
>>14679674
Ah forgot this one, but this one isnt even finished, I have the first 5 volumes of 6 there were released.
>>14679713
I don't read Nagai for his endings.
>>14677409
I'd be interested in doing it, but I don't know moon and already have enough on my plate for now. Maybe someday..
xpearse really needs to stop releasing his shit on this world
everytime he releases one of his horrible faked translations, he just ruins a series for everyone who wants to read it and anyone who was working on it
>>14679644
Probably didn't want him to steal their thunder
>>14677842
This picture made a thought pop into my head...
Imagine if Dynamic Pro had done Dino-Riders.
>>14678671
The same goes for happy, i flicked through their version and there's tons of mistakes
Here's an example from HS release and why I didn't level it. In any case, there's no point in continuing if they are. Doesn't matter who does it, just as long as it gets done.
>>14679391
I've been in contact with them since GM and we've been talking about Nagai, VJ and various things from time to time. They told me that they had GM fully translated at the time but never got around to typesetting it and that they didn't mind me doing it instead.
However, when I did Devilman Lady vs Cutie Honey they said they were planning to do that but they'll "let me" do it instead. I didn't like how they worded that. It was as if they're acting they own all such works.
>>14679543
They sent me an email asking me to let them do it instead since they spent good money on it and since they have translated the first volume already. I don't mind, but I just wish they told me before because I have already translated the next 50 pages and spent time dividing the entire thing into chapters. Could have done something else with my time.
But now I get the feeling if I touch anything, they're just going to say "we were going to do that".
>>14680151
I own God Mazinger and that's how it actually looks. With scans, you have a lamp of light that is placed on the physical page so it ends up making everything washed out and tones that would normally blend together get separated.
>But now I get the feeling if I touch anything, they're just going to say "we were going to do that".
HappyScans have been saying for years what manga they are currently working on or have bought raws for. Just ask them and they'll tell you. Additionally, they've been asking for translators and typesetters for a while so I don't know why you didn't just ask them if they had any raws to work on in the first place. Honestly, you sound needlessly bitchy with lines like
>I didn't like how they worded that
>>14680151
that one is dark but look at this one it's missing all of the detail on the moon and the shading around the castle is really washed out so that there's actually parts of the mist missing
I went through and compared some early pages to look at the translation. It looks like the xpearse version loses a lot of meaning in the text and puts weird shit like duck man as an insult but I haven't seen any plot details missed yet but this is just like the first 10 pages I scanned through so there hasn't been any plot yet
Here's another weird line by xPearse that misses the point, kind of worrying since that is a really simple line
>>14680191

>>14680159
No, implying ownership of something without a license is douchebaggery and would be asking for a lawsuit if japs paid attention to us. That said, I dunno why OP doesnt just help happyscans. He seems faster than them, although he fucks up sometimes but that's what editors are for.
>>14680302
>No, implying ownership of something without a license is douchebaggery
I think you're putting more thought into the phrasing than happyscans ever did, if they even did say it in the first place
>>14680318
It was probably just the wording. I thought too much about it, I guess.
>>14680175
He calls his dad duck man or man of ducks if you will, and uses an onomatopoeia for quacking.
>>14680302
I just like to work on my own. I'm not good in teams or relying on others.
>>14680151
>>14680346
>But now I get the feeling if I touch anything, they're just going to say "we were going to do that".
If you're still interested in Nagai, there are so many directions you can go.
I would love to see the Enma-kun sequels translated.
Or you could always translate Henchin Pokoider or Maboroshi Panty.
>>14680346
Then why have happy written different ?
>>14680806
Because they edited the text to make it flow better, I guess. Lots of scanlation groups do that.
>>14680696
I have no clue what any of those are. Anyhow, I'm getting back into Terra ForMars now so I won't be doing anything Nagai for the moment.
>>14680806
>>14680829
"duck man" is a Japanese phrase referring to a domestic duck or essentially a very obedient person.
xpearse translation = literal reading, missing point
hs translation = preserving meaning of text
>>14680829
>I have no clue what any of those are
Enma-kun is Nagai's version of ggg no kitaro.
Enma-kun and his pals (Kapaeru and Yukiko hime) are tasked to bring back demons back to Hell. He's the nephew of King Enma.
The manga has sequels, but they aren't translated.
>>14680829
>Maboroshi Panty
Maboroshi Panty is a Kekkou Kamen like heroine. She wears an underwear on her head. Also by Nagai.
>>14680829
>Henchin Pokoider
Henchin Pokoider is Nagai's version of Kamen Rider.
He turns into Henchin Pokoider by spinning his dick, hence, henchin, as in chinpo.
>>14680991
I wonder what he'd do for Harambe
>>14681012
Probably something like this
>>14680933
For all the effort he does you all sure do love to complain, talk about being ungrateful
>>14680933
Umm, source, man of ducks?
>>14680989
Sounds really dumb. I think I'll pass.
>>14680991
Sounds so stupid it might actually be good or just downright terrible.
>>14681017
Awww, not that. I stopped reading the moment the bear starting fucking someone. Ha ha ha. So funny. Nagai's the master of comedy.
>>14680874
What is that again?
>>14681305
>What is that again?
Salacia
In 2071, north pole ice have melted and the land has been submerged. Humanity survived but it's divided into two species: the true humans, those who live in underwater cities, and the Dugons, those who chose to undergo genetic modification to live in the sea. Both species go to war to survive as long as the Dugons consider the humans good to eat.
To defend against the Dugons, the city of Mari Ramelle builds a new kind of weapon, the mermaid robot, Salacia. Because of the small size of the the pilot cabin, the robot is piloted by a girl and a boy, both 13 years old: Marin Yuuki and Ushio Mizushiro. The fight for survival is hard, and during the manga, the city builds more mermaid robots.
I want to see more jidaigeki manga from Nagai translated.
More mecha manga from Nagai

Goddamm do I wish people would stop using apostrophes to denote plurality. That is not what they're for.

>>14683970
This might be hard for you two to wrap your brain around, but I was not referring exclusively to this particular instance. It has nothing to do with being free. This dude would've fucked up if he was being paid too because people suddenly forgot what apostrophes are for in the last few years.
>>14683984
This triggers me the most.
http://www.its-not-its.info/
And most of /m/ is guilty of it. Fucking plebshits.
>>14683984
>This dude would've fucked up if he was being paid too
They would have proofread and he wouldn't be working for money with that level of grammar in the first place
>>14684006
>Pure autism
>>14684007
Exactly it's sloppy because it's free
>>14684007
>>14684013
Again, those things are irrelevant to the fact that this dude and millions of others don't know how to use apostrophes.
>>14684042
Do you really need to get hung up on that one little thing, are you that guy from /a/ who complains about the same shit?
>>14684010
> I'm an easily influenced pleb who leans on buzzwords and thinks it's okay to abuse language like a savage
Have some standards for once in your miserable life.
>>14684051
Obviously I don't NEED to. As stated earlier, I just wish people would act right and other people would stop bending over backwards to excuse their mistakes and/or ignorance.
Apostrophes are not for denoting plurality and I've never been to /a/
>>14684059
But no one cares
>>14681017

The apostrophe makes all the difference.
IT'S = IT IS
It's not a simple grammar mistake. It's a rule that fucks up your sentences if you don't follow it. You can forget your office job, because no one will take an illiterate retard like you seriously.

This seems like a good thread to ask. Which Go Nagai manga should I read next? Devilman Lady is my favorite so far, and I'm looking for more bizarre/perverted stuff like that.
>>14684211
>spelling error
No, because spelling errors are not equal.
Some people write seperate instead of separate. Those are forgivable, because it doesn't violate the language in a way that renders a sentence unreadable.
Confusing it's and its is one of the gravest English language sins one could make, not only because the rule actually makes sense (and it's not one of those "exceptions), but also because it pretty much means that you never understood the language to begin with.
You're literally Pablo.

Everyone here is mostly familiar with Nagai's 70s art and on, but his earliest drawings had the 60s cartoony style, close to Tezuka and all.
Go Nagai's early art from Jigoku no Kenman (1968)
>>14684747
That's more Ishinomori than anything.
>>14684763
True, but Tezuka is the one who spread the cartoony style.

But that's Sabu and Ichi. Characters from Nagai's mentor Shotaro Ishinomori.

>>14687296
Nagai was always making affectionate parodies of Ishinomori's manga. I saw one for Fantasy World Jun and Cyborg 009 as well. He actually worked in some of them. Sometimes you can see early Nagai's designs in background characters and stuff like that.

You're going to have to wait for HS. Whenever they're going to put more out who knows seeing how they only got theirs out since I put out mine.
