But the combat gameplay is largely the same since alpha, except for the TTK is shorter now so light mechs are less OP. You also lost the ability to tune your mechs but that isn't why people play Hawken anyway.

Those missiles last way too long.

Kind of takes away all of the tension of being in either side of the dogfight if you can fire one obviously-missing volley missile and put your opponent on the defensive for like ten entire seconds as the missiles miss and redirect and miss and redirect like three or four times.

Those things are super small. That's what lets them swarm like that. It means they don't have a lot of fuel for maneuvers and you're relying on numbers to do your job, not the reliability of the missile(s).

Especially if it's one missile that breaks off into several, like that one looks like. At that point the baby missiles are basically guided rockets with maybe a couple of seconds of correction fuel.

I like the circus because it's wonderful to look at and takes skill to dodge, but when firing one distraction circus means that a guy is on the defense for that long and you can just circle and volley at your hearts content, that's a bit much.

For an engaging dogfight your opponent needs a brief window of opportunity to put you on the defensive as well--or he needs to at least be rewarded for dodging your attempt to kill him.

ACs rarely ever have guys to root for to be fair. The only actual bad guy is probably Nine Ball in MoA and well that's not really a guy. Otherwise it's pretty ambiguous, even if you're on one side neither side are inherently eeeevil.

The AC4 era had some relatively clean corps and some excessive cunts. I mean in Omer are basically hitler, Interior Union are never really did much wrong and it's hard to fault Line Ark.

Also while ORCA's method may have been extreme they did basically all sacrifice their lives to save the entire human race from extinction at the hands of the League.
