Is it worth watching the Thunderbolt ONAs or can I just watch December Sky? Normally I wouldn't ask, but since Thunderbolt was originally only 4 episodes it doesn't seem like a stretch for them to be easily merged into a single production.

The Co-Prosperity Sphere plan by UC standards was actually rather reasonable for a spacenoid agenda. The main problem is that Full Frontal could not give a rats ass about it as a whole, it was just thrown out to spice some doubt in the Federation Forces and encourage hope for the Sleeves. Frontal is basically the nihilism of the original Char without any of the hope or desires the original had.

By all accounts, had he actually intended to just split the Earth and Spaces economies, he might have been somewhat in the right with his reasonings.

Fundamentally, FF's plan was to reverse the relationship between the colonies and Earth. Instead of trying to build bridges, he would just add fuel to the Earthnoid-Spacenoid fire that has been raging since the Principality of Zeon first came into being.

Yes, it is massively important to Gundam.

A lot of people like to shout about "Zeon wanking", but the reality is that most people who fight are not bad people. They might be ignorant, or angry, but not bad.

Turn-A Gundam is the perfect chronological ending to the series for this reason IMO.
