If I remember correctly, 0083 borrowed music from 2010 for it's background stuff.

If we are talking Op/Ed, then probably Gundam X, Seed, maybe Wing (ignoring those series other qualities. If we are talking background stuff, Gundam 00.

Turn A easily. Zeta has best OPEDs tho.

Thunderbolt probably has the best recent OST. The Free Jazz parts are kind of overrated, but all the insert songs and how they're used are great. It's interesting to hear a Japanese take on this kind of music. The Nakazawa Nobuyoshi songs in particular have got some SOUL

i know i'm going to get hate for this, but im trying to watch 0079 right now and i've never watched gundam seriously before. I'm having a really hard time with it, the pacing is so slow (i'm at the part where amuro deserts) does it pick up. Can I skip this one and move on to Wing or one of the more modern shows

Soundtracks? It's really hit or miss for the Gundam Franchise where at every series has a few good songs, but it's not able to maintain consistency. (See Unicorn)

My preferences. Now don't get butthurt over my choices, even if you think it comes out of bias.

It probably did the best out of all of the Gundam series in creating military marching music with the use of basic percussion like snare drums and cymbals along with the woodwind and brass. It also had a synthesized vibe which I liked.

You should have watched the movie trilogy for 0079, it's more difficult to watch but you save a lot of time without missing anything substantial.

Anyway I recommend you to finish at least 0079 before switching to AU, since they are very derivative and may spoil you.

Also, Wing is a meme show, avoid it.

A majority of the modern series are alternate universe shows that don't connect on a clear level.

Don't force yourself to watch a series you don't like, it's not meant for everyone.

A lot of the material A New Translation cuts out is filler or streamlined. Like your example of the 30 bunch gassing, it's included in the movies, but instead of being an entire episode, it's just a scene of Reccoa showing footage to Emma, and it delivers the same point.

AGE has a good soundtrack, though. Not as good as most of the others overall, but there are some standout tracks in each part. OP and ED selection is all quite solid too.

Had to use some alternate versions because of copyright removing them from Youtube, but yeah. Like I said, it's overall not as strong as most OSTs because it's lacking in good tracks that aren't action themes like the ones I posted from what I can remember, but I do like all those for what they are.

As for good OPs and EDs, I'm pretty partial to OP 1 and 4 and ED 3. Red Decision from the games too.
