Can we discuss about this game? I've recently finished it and it was great and I love the ship designs. [spoilers]Sequel when?[/spoilers]

We'll get a sequel right after they rerelease the first with a Nia route included.

Posting ship designs from image scans from Famitsu

I wish they could fix the rushed ending chapter if that ever happens.

Are there any scans of the artbook floating around?
>>
>>14622187
There was a "spiritual succesor" on the PSP , though I don't remember what was the game's name.
>>
>>14622187
Was a sick game. Such a fleshed out universe for a DS game.

Shame it doesn't get more love.
>>
>>14622187
A unique game with tons of cool spaceships and a very memorable villain faction.

I adored it in terms of scope and story. It goes from a simple space hauler to full on space opera with ambition rarely seen outside of novel series. In this regard, I just wish it could have gone deeper into some characters. I was genuinely invested in the cast which what drove me.

It was an incredibly flawed as a game though. The customization was kind of weak. The weak balance made loading up on fighters a no brainer.

The combat was laughable, jockeying into position on a linear plane, launch fighters, and just hammering from there. That wonderful ship artwork was largely wasted since you rarely got to see those ships from multiple angles. I would love to see the story and setting grafted onto a system as robust as Rebel Galaxy if not a full on 3D engagement.

Damn hit the submit button too fast.

More than that, it was wasted by being on a platform that just couldn't do the concept art justice.
>>
What's a Kira?

One of Rebel Galaxy's big flaws was tying power to upgrade levels rather than ships. There was no reason to buy any of the ships past the ones you get in the first system because anything past that point trades speed for firepower in a not so good ratio.

Taking all that bullshit out and replacing it with something more along the lines of infinite space would've been much nicer.
>>
>>14623231
...No? The point of Rebel Galaxy was to buy the ship with the most turrets mounts that had the most focused field of fire, grind until you had the best set of pulse turrets, shields, engines and hull for that point in the playthrough then drive right up the enemies asshole and DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA them to death.

Which was the Tennhausen. That you could get in the first system. Every ship was exactly as durable as every other ship, and totally reliant on upgrades. That's fucking dumb, and you're fucking dumb if you liked that.

You are a fool and your family is of poor genetic stock.

The Tennhausen has a paltry 4 turrets, that is nowhere near enough DPS.
The Arcturus is far more suitable for the battles later on.

I have no idea how you struggled to position yourself, I was able to chase down and hound any ship even in my post-game Polaris while grinding them down with the turrets..
>>
>>14623590
All 4 of which can be used in combination with a broadside. Which can be entirely made up of beams.

I never had trouble positioning because everything fucking melted in half a second. Then I'd boost around dodging whatever random shots were coming my way and nuke the next target.
>>
>>14623598
Having a ship's base durability only come into play after getting through 3 layers of equipment based defense (deflector, shields, and then armor) does skew survivability toward the faster ships who could outrun trouble while eviscerated foes one at a time. The Barracuda and Sturville were my preferred rides in this regard.

However, the heavier ships come into their own in escorts missions where pure dig in and obliterate firepower are required because your escorts targets are made of tissue paper. The faster ships just cannot eliminate those threats fast enough. That's when I would bring out the Minotaur or Blackgate..I wanted to like the Polaris, but weapon coverage was poor.

Back to IS...I must admit I got quite attached to my ships. It saddened me when I had to retire my Borodino, but it just couldn't keep up with the LMC ships.
>>
>>14625106
I ended up turning my Borodino into a cargo ship, and used the Nova Nacian big railgun battleship as my main ship until I upgrade to LMC designs.
>>
>>14625106
That Borodino really could last such a long time.
>>
I still remember going through the time skip and being blown away at the thought that I was only 1/2 done by then.

A remastered version for the 3ds would be so fucking lovely.
>>
I really like this game but it rush near the end.
>>
>>14625375
If the enemies in the last chapter weren't so few and so easy. I wouldn't be too dissapointed in the ending.

The climatic fleet battles against the Emperor and his fleet was more of a final boss than those giant rocks.
>>
>>14625106

I liked the Borodino but I didn't mind replacing my SMC ships when I got the chance. Especially when the first LMC blueprints you get are the Magellanic Stream Pirate ships. I'm not going to complain about getting Junkyards. Good god that ship was fantastic!
>>
>>14626830
The junkyard isn't all that great in combat given its low (for LMC) base stats and standard cruiser grade weapon loadout, but I fully admit that it's module capacity is absolutely hilarious. It's a mid sized ship obtained in the middle of the game, yet it's tied for most module space with the most powerful unlockable superbattleship.

Then you play extra mode and get to cram them full of cluster missiles and suddenly combat is a joke and you're making a mint off of cargo into the bargain.
