>Hey, the enemy stole one of our nukes, let's gather all our ships at the same spot so that if the nuke launcher was to sneak on us we would lose our entire fleet in one attack, seems like a great idea
>And don't forget to leave that blind spot open!
Why are feddies so retarded? And how do they still win in the end?
>>14618413
Good guys always win i guess
>>14618413
The problem is that the Feds keep thinking they're not in a super robot setting.
>A nuke? In space? Might damage a ship or two but come on.
Also remember that it's all set up by Jamitov and Bask.
Gp02 was a secret even to the most of the EF and Jamitov manipulated it for maximum effect

Gato makes a speech and goes "hurr durr the feddies made a nuke weapon in our backs violating the treaty and we stole it" so they knew it was coming, they even feared they would send it directly at jaburo initially.

The question is: Did the general populace really believe the speech Delaz made? It could have easily just have been old Zeon remnants trying to stir shit up. Hell, the general population might have even thought the GPO2 was just something they threw together as a prop.
The navel review getting nuked was a shock to the Federation. Most higher officials indeed thought they would go after Jaburo and even when Gato made his move, they thought that the defensive lines would hold him off.
Some of the generals were clearly aware of the theft because they were scared they would attack Jaburo with it in the first few eps, and while Unit 2 might have been a hoax, they knew about the nuke being stolen, and they knew it's killing potential cause it was theirs.

Also, forgot to respond
>Feddies
>Good guys
good one, not as bad as Zeon scums but they were corrupt and didn't care for the civilians on Earth.
Wasn't the GPO2 only know to a very select few higher ups in the Federation? (which was manipulated by Bask and Hyman to put themselves in power)
The cover up at the end probably implied that the GPO2 was effectively a Zeon False Flag operation.

Why do you think a nuke would be ineffective in space? Depending on the power of the bomb and the distance from the detonation point, it could be like being close to a star.
>>14618413
As others have said the whole conspiracy in 0083 was manipulated by Jamirov and Bask so they could form the Titans. Also don't forget that the Feds viewed the Zeon on remnants as terrorists, if they canceled the naval review it would look like they're giving in and that would lead to political fallout
>>14618893
In the vacuum of space nuclear bombs release most of their power as X-rays instead of creating a blast wave like an atmospheric detonation. Because all the energy is being released as X-rays, the area of effect of the detonation is much smaller compared to an atmospheric strike. You have to be hit almost exactly on target to do real damage. Unless you go full casaba howitzer or have a bomb pumped laser.

>>14618739
That was retarded, the war was already over and thus the treaty between The EF and the Principality was no longer in effect
>>14618973
The Principality itself no longer existed.
>>14618413
Solomon was an inside job
>>14618973
FALSE.
The Antarctic Treaty is clearly mentioned in Zeta. It's still in effect after the OYW.
