He got his special snowflake OG1 route because they were promoting Impact, the first big PS2 SRW which had recently come out. Then he was the main character of OG2 which actually used his plot, but after that he's fallen by the wayside.

Other notes:
They tried to nerf Noriko's bonus but I feel it might be even better because you can now control when it activates better. Ifva boss retreats at 30K I don't even use support, just throw Noriko at it. Shin Getter and GL are good damage dealers but man they cannot take hits. Guaranteed 3k for every squad targetting them due to their lousy evasion is embarrassing. I get auto defensir to Setsuna, even super accurate bosses can't hurt him now. Dix neuf is great, basically a mini Gunbuster except unfortunately for it's defense. Real robots have really suffered. Some of them are basically useless unless you put a lot of effort into them. It's only now that I feel like some are getting good. I tried emulating the Z2 Aquarion set up with EVOL, but it's just not the same. I love this half upgrade bonus, it's a great change, basically means you can get a bonus after every map.

Jua-Mu gave us some foreshadowing of his family members, which he definitely did not do in J. Tea leaves and Terada's fondness for name dropping things that show up in the future means we'll maybe get an OG OC to fill the player Vorlent and Coustwell Brachium. Jua-Mu is fucking toast though, sadly.

I'm actually quite happy at how they fleshed out the Fury as a whole in MD, especially Gu-Landon and Jua-Mu. Fu-Lu gets the short end of the stick yet again and dies not accomplishing much. They feel a lot more comprehensive and enjoyable, the newcomers don't feel shoehorned in, and the tweaks to the plot, Granteed handjobs notwithstanding, are neato.
