Sei though... My theory is he wanted to build and battle with a RX-78 like his dad. But maybe he was scared of getting bullied worse by other building kids (people already made fun of him a lot.) for building an "old" or "dated" kit. So he went with a newer kit that was close to the rx-78. (by the time of Build Strike Full Package, it resembled the RX-78 way more than Kira's Strike.)
