Well, it's a base defense mission where every enemy starts one move away from hitting the base. And also there's infinite reinforcements. And the reinforcements spawn one move away from hitting the base. And half the damn map is considered as surrounding the base. And the base can't hit back and starts at low HP. And you can only field 8 units. And these infinite reinforcements are on a timer, and at the end of the turn count you have to clear out what's left in like a turn or you lose instantly and have to restart the mission. And all the enemies have 20000+ HP and can support attack themselves. And this mission is the third in a group so you can't field some of your squad since you need them to get through shit like the Genobreaker two missions back.

God fuck that mission. I am, at least, learning how NOT to make a game.

Because I enjoy it? The directing is good, the sakuga is more consistent than either 00 or IBO, I like the 70 throwback character designs, some of the side-characters I find endearing, the Ebikawa designs are neat, music is good as always in a Gundam show.

It's the stage where you first get the Ultrasaurus, and yes, the "base" in question is the Ultrasaurus's fucking stuck ass sitting at the bottom of a dried out lake incapable of doing things like moving.

Hilariously, once it actually moves its ass, the mission is significantly easier as long as you're not out of position. The Ultrasaurus is pretty damn good once it can fucking defend itself, and your other units aren't constantly taking a beating for it by Support Defend so you can focus on killing things easier.

I was, for the longest time, the person making the guide on Akurasu as to who force deploys and who doesn't. Someone seems to have done Chapter 7 for me, but I still have to fact check.

Keeping everything on level isn't honestly a problem, with a little grinding I'm actually ahead of the curve right now - right now my lowest units are 66 and most are 67-70 (with a few major outliers like Chirico, Van and Irvine, and the battleships getting all the way up to 80) while the stages are 61. The issue comes from the fact that I also am only keeping upgrades all on level, which means everyone's at 66% (with a few now at 68%).

Mind, by the end of the chapter, I'll probably have managed everything to max EN and 9 bar weapons. It's what I'm shooting for. It's just that that takes a lot of money, and my EC supply is starting to finally run dry. I've kept ahead of it thus far thanks to 2x parts for EC but not money, but it's not going to last forever, I don't think.
