Starts off long ago during a cataclysmic event, interesting redesigns here and there (others not so interesting,) better animation and models all around, good weapon selection with lots of customization (RX-0's arsenal comes to mind) more popular than older entries (but not necessarily better,) has more polish than previous entries, the "I win" button isn't QUITE as broken as before, and the average grunt can be more of a threat to a beginner player, but later on you are steamrolling them to death.

But it introduces some awkward ideas to the lore, stat/skill progression feel arbitrary and stupid, and the writing is so god awful it severely damages the enjoyment one recieves from a rewatch/playthrough.

I dont know. For me, Unicorn didn't lose my interest as hard and as fast as it did with Fallout 4. Maybe because it was shorter? No, I didn't even get too far in FO4.

The damn thing basically is Folding Strike.

Big ugly green beam cannon in the same place as Launcher's, except so big it has to fold up to not get in the way.

Ditto for for Sword's baby blue anti-ship sword.

Even Aile's red wings now fold as needed, when they're not shitting out pink particles that don't seem to accomplish much.

And as an added bonus, it also folds in the final battle of its own series!

I never understood why the sword and the cannon were to be respectively blue and green, like the Strike, a mobile suits of EA. The two colors do not work at all with Destiny. The weapons were supposed to be black or fitted exactly like the Destiny impulse.

I'd heard that Destiny was Freedom's original design (since it's basically super Strike and would have fit first series Kira decently well) but it got shelved for Boring McSpambot.

FNV was done by almost a completely different company just reusing FO3 assets. They really shouldn't be compared.

Compare FO4 to FO3 as that's what it's really a sequel to.

It's kind of sort of true, as it WAS originally going to just be all the weapons on Strike, but that never even got to the concept phase because they figured constantly animating all those weapons on the backpack would get annoying.

Then it was going to be Strike with a pack that had alot of fold out guns like you see above. Then they made it a seperate machine, then finally they made Freedom proper where there was no pack and everything was built directly into it.

Destiny they figured they'd give the all the Strike weapons again. I think it looking like the Strike more than Impulse was just for the ease of reusing stock footage.

Destiny Impulse wasn't even created until after Destiny aired anyway. So it's not like they even had the idea.

Plus blue swords and green cannons actually are the colors of the Impulse's original packs.

It really comes down to Zaft just using EA astetics for their super prototype units. And the answer for that is because main characters get Gundams all other logic be damned.

Even the first concept there has at design elements of least the Aile Strike pack and Launcher Strike pack on it between the wings (which look similar to Ailes)and guns. It even has the machine cannons from the Sword Strike Pack.

Oh wait, the machine cannons are apparently on the Launcher pack, not the Sword - so it really doesn't have anything from that one pack. Still, it definitely has elements of two of the three packs, even if doing so makes it a cluttered mess.

I'm a bit disappointed there wasn't a Perfect Impulse that used the bits from the Force, Sword, and Blast packs. Or a Perfect ZAKU that used the Blaze, Slash, and Gunner packs.

New Vegas has very little of the same staff involved. Chris Avellone is about as close a returning member as New Vegas has, and even he took a backseat role on the production. An homage is something like "these decended from the Z.A.K.U., the first mobile suit in history", not this shit. The show exists to sell plastic, and they could only do that by ripping off an older suit that actually sold well. You expect it and desire it from the main Gundam of the show but when the grunts are straight ripoffs it's insulting.
