You need a much longer episode to be able to flesh out the individual gunplay if you have six of them in the spotlight at a time.

Hell, half the time they had to tie the teammates hands just to give ONE of them the spotlight.

The issue w/ 3v3 isn't the combat. Chick-how-are-you aside, I don't think there's much to really complain about in Try's fights from a choreography and focus stand-point. The problem is character development. There are only two teams in Try that got characterisation for the entire opposing team - Team Celestrial Edgelords, and the team with Not-Sleggar, the bitchy girl, and the Mega Shiki. All the others had either three forgetable people or two forgetable people and a single character.

Issue with this is that the matches always feel uneven. Even if the fight ends up as 1v1, the match never quite feels it. Yuuma vs. Minato would've been a lot heavier had it just been them, same goes for Junya and Sekai.

That, and the pacing. The bullshit stretching of one battle across two episodes, with some braindead interaction filler instead of character building. GBF had shit like Mao going back to see his master or Fellini and Kirara flirting or Aila and Reiji's food wars. Things that breathed life and energy into people even if they were just a bunch of character archetypes. Try didn't even give them that much, and it kept picking them up to pose menacingly for maybe an episode or two centering around a match, only to relegate them to audience cameos thereafter.

The entire thing ended up boring and bland because there was no real spirit or joy in it. The battles were there, the visuals were there, but the soul wasn't there.

It's objectively shit. There are some scenes where they purposely prolong the stock footage to fill the 25 minutes quota just because they can wrote better interaction between the characters.

That, and the soundtracks are horribly unfit for most of the scenes. Fuck the director.
