>so much grain I can't save it as a PNG and be under the filesize
I hope this is a constant throughout the film and they didn't do too much DNR. You can see it in this still shot, but it's not really evident in any of the animated portions. Then again, this is just fucking YouTube, so
>>14599291
oh come on /m/ you used to like transformers
>>14599291
I gotta say, I'm not even a TF fan, but having seen this movie a handful of times, I always knew it could look this good.
About time.
I'm old enough to have seen TF:TM when it came out 30 years ago, and it was pretty amazing compared to the daily G1 cartoon at the time. Of course the big WTF moment was Optimus dying, but the whole movie was so above the series anaimation, along with the Stan Bush/Vince DiCola music.
Definitley want to see this, I had no idea it was being released till this thread.

And then we discovered walky and never looked back.
>>14601418
I think they all migrated to /toy/
Would people like the movie if there was no Unicron in the story?
>>14603176
They did. You don't want that autism.
>>14601418
I love me some Transformers. I just don't care so much for the G1 cartoon/movie.
I'm glad this exists, I just probably won't bother watching it again.
TF veterans don't care about the modern cartoons as they are for kids. People just stick to the toylines and IDW comics.

Must have been a nightmare to find a place to tailor those
>>14610333
They probably just went to Swindle, Swindle, and Swindle's.
OH SHIT
Picking this shit up, used to watch that movie daily when I was a small boy.
I watched it again a couple years ago, it's still good.

But this movie already had a BluRay release, it's been shared a few years in Internet. It looks even more detailed, although they left the colors untouched. This is a screenshot for the 30 anniversary release.
>>14616319
This is the same shot in the BluRay release that exists already.
>>14616319
isn't 4k supposed to be double-plus resolution?
>>14616827
Well spotted anon

Why is Hot Rod purple? I thought he was red.

According to TFwiki the toyline for Prime was delayed by TWO MONTHS so the show could (and I quote) "establish itself as a fiction driven narrative", then RID '15 promptly went back to the kiddie friendly toy pushing formula.
>>14613742
I heard they were selling blueprints of these babies
>>14599291
I don't even like Transformers that much, but that makes an already gorgeously animated movie look even better.
>>14617173
Is RiD any good? I liked Prime well enough.
>>14617412
It's okay. Average really.

It's like a halfway-point between Japanese and Western productions. The tone is more lighthearted and each season is quite self-contained similar to the Unicorn trilogy or Japanese G1 stuff. However, the writing and designs are done from the Western side.
One highlight is that in season two, Bumblebee has to deal with a revived Optimus Prime much like G1 Rodimus. The difference is that he doesn't simply return the leadership role. The whole situation is much better handled and the writing for that is quite decent.
Another notable thing is that it's a MOTW mecha show. Whatever budget experiment Polygon Studios did with Knights of Sidonia worked because this show has a new Decepticon every other episode, a format you don't see much these days.

I thought you meant this at first. Prowl as a Lamborghini Diablo police car was pretty dope
>>14619503
Is there any way to watch this? Has it been lost to the sands of time?
The English version, I mean.
>>14622553
No worries, Karyuudo got you covered.

Seeding seems a bit low though.

IIRC its on youtube courtesy of the British broadcast of the show (which is identical to the US version, except with less scenes cut because of post 9/11 sensitivity to buildings getting wrecked)

His animation model is magenta actually

What shit were they smoking at Sunbow in the 80's?

The interesting thing is that Grimlock and Sideswipe AREN'T the pre-existing characters of the same name, Grimlock just happens to be named Grimlock since it was mentioned offhand by staff that "Grimlock seems to be a common name among dinobots" (likely given in tribute to the original Dinobot leader) and since Sideswipe was fanboying over Jazz (who is a pre-existing character since he and Bumblebee know eachother) it can be assumed he was named in honor of the pre-existing character.
>>14616871
this is on youtube mind you
>>14633609
It's shit
