Nagai's modern art is vastly underrated. This shit looks amazing.
Who would have thought Nagai did a manga about Takeda?

Can someone explain to me how comic art just got better over the decades? Both Eastern and Western. Comics of the 60's and 30's are kinda bland. 70's manga is pretty plain. Then all the modern comics and manga are highly detailed.
Did they have different time contraints? Less money?

Go away.
Old Nagai art is awesome too.

Why is no one picking up Harenchi Gakuen?

Because it's bad. And dated.

But it's no more dated than your mom.

She has passed menopause. So in a certain way, you're right. Both Harenchi Gakuen and my mom are dated.

Sure thing Carlos.

>people in here denying that old comics look like shit because they're hipsters
The real answer is that each subsequent evolution of comic art involves -inventing- a style. Somebody had to figure out a better way each time and there's really nothing intuitive about it.
Not only that but comic artists were not traditionally people with huge amounts of formal artistic training, on top of the fact that quality was almost a necessary casualty of regular serial output.

Modern comics look like shit.
>>14570975
Well, some people have talent, others have been doing this for years. Western stuff also generally uses computer effects to spice up the art.
