In terms of the rebellion, it was not a bad idea given how he had so much support behind him, but it was staged at literally one of the worst times possible, just as the Federations final assault fleets were prepping to hit Axis and Core 3. Had he waited, he might have been able to snuff out Haman and her supporters without the threat of the looming Federation.

Unlike Haman, Glemy was channeling the most rabid and intense pro-zabi sentiment that groups like the Delaz fleet and sections of the One Year War zeon military had. Where I could see Haman working with the Federation and A.E.U.G to reach her goal, Glemy would have most likely refused such an idea.

I forget the exact lines, but at one point Glemy certainly seeks to avoid conflict with AEUG since their ideals are the same. He's a rather ambiguous character, since on one hand his (alleged?) like for Deikunism should be in line with the AEUG's initial aims, but then we see the other side of him where he's just interested in using his tenuous ties to the Zabis to further himself.

I don't think his clone/sun/whatever relationship with Gihren is ever brought up in ZZ. What makes him decide to turn on Haman is when he fights with the Zeon ISIS or whatever the fuck they were in the desert and they call him the sickest badass ever who totally represents the greatest ideals of Zeon and he decides they're right and then strts to undermine Haman.

If Gundam Side Stories has any merit to it for plot, Char was openly welcoming every previous Zeon movement member to join alongside him in fighting against the Federation...with extreme exception to Glemys forces. the final chapter of the game is your unit hunting down anyone who managed to survive Glemys insurrection up until U.C 0090. Not even trying to recruit them at all, just purely wipe them off the face of existence.

In one of the later Gihrens Greeds, If you are playing as Gihrens Zeon and refused to accept aid from Haman prior to her creating Axis to fight against the current Zeon, Glemy will outright defect by himself and give you all of the tech Haman would have had you accepted her help. No dialouge between him and Gihren, but from the moon I understood, your advisor makes mention that Glemy may have ties to the Zabi dynasty and that he would make a welcome addition to Gihrens army.
