Are the Gothicmades so far the worst Japanese mecha designs

The new designs look even more like works of art, and the rail joints are the first of their kind. The clear armor has been a thing since LED Mirage, no point in complaining about it. If these weren't retcons and were their own designs I doubt everyone would be so harsh on them.

When the first "official" Gothicmade design was introduced back in 2010 or whenever it was that Gothicmade's (the movie) first trailer came out, no one had any problems with it that wasn't already talked about when it came to your usual Nagano design. The general consensus was that it sorta looked like a Mortar Headd combined with a Brain Powerd design. And then everyone moved on until the retcons were announced, showing these brand-new designs that were all WAY too similar to the original movie Gothicmade, and then telling us that THESE were supposed to replace the classic designs? That was when people got really angry and the hate train was boarded.

I'm glad we are getting some variations with the designs like >>14569400, but it's too little too late, especially since none of us can get caught up with FSS's story due to lack of translations on newer volumes.

This design I don't really like so far but it has some cool design elements to it. Like the red earrings, fully translucent armour, and that rainbow strip of colors under its chin.

I really don't like the fins or whatever it has on its back. The buster rocket makes it look skinnier than it should, and I think if it had the backpack the final LED design had it would look tons better.

Also, the lack of the axe-shaped cutter on the head is sad.

GTM Black Knight is in my opinion the absolute best of the Nagano scarecrows. Instead of looking like someone tried to mount armor to an anorexic noodle figurine, Daccas looks like an ornate skeleton, a single unified body with nothing looking out of place. And if you were to slap some real armor on it, I could totally buy into the idea that the result would be the classic MH Vatshu.


That is to say, Daccas gives off the vibe of an armor-purged Vatshu, and I think that's as cool as you can get with the GTM aesthetic.

The saddest thing about GTM is the lack of art available for the mecha compared to the 28 or so years of designs and art for the MHs.

Very little interior artwork, most GTMs have like a single image available and many of them are only show part of the mecha. The recent NewType issues with FSS on the covers don't have art exclusively drawn for the cover since said art just shows up later in the Designs artbooks.

There are tons of MH designs and each year we get to see maybe 5 or so new GTM.

Liking the GTM designs is being starved of content.

I hope he drastically changes the new LED since it's the worst of the bunch. The rigged strip on it just looks bad along with the overall proportions on it. Fuck the on it too.
