I love Straxus back there.

One thing about this comic is that it's very G.I. Joe heavy. As a Transformers fan who isn't a G.I. Joe guy, it kind of disappointed me at first. But I kind of saw what they were going for later - the old Marvel comics had a very mystical quality to them, and the way they treat the Cybertronians is as these mythical living gods, while the Joes are the human-level characters.

yeah it's definitely an interesting approach, and is probably for the best, too much focus on the Transformers and you risk making the GI Joe portion feel unimportant, while minimizing the Transformers initial role actually achieves the opposite, making Scioli's elevation of them to Jack Kirby Semi-Gods all the more effective

The idea of the G.I Joe Green Zone is one of my favorite things. It's a good pun and plays back into the idea that Cybertronian vehicles have magnetic tires that can't drive on nonmetallic surfaces. Plus we're like a disease.

they make a point of calling back to how in the early days Decepticons were the fliers and Autobots were the wheeled vehicles. And Megatron's throne being inside Trypticon's mouth will never not be the coolest thing.

ON CYBERTRON EVERYTHING IS FUEL

I wish the comic had at least one more issue before the final battle started. They clearly had a few things that just happen without any explanation.

Snake-Eyes getting the Master Sword, and him taking possession of Fortress Maximus (Gallen's fate is also unknown)
Kobra-La monster just vanishes.
Devastator coming back to life after receiving a replacement, when the comic before had them complaining that they couldn't combine anymore.
Omega Supreme makes a grand entrance, kills Astrotrain, then never shows up again despite the comic implying he'd be important.

I think the only thing I don't like from this comic is the changes to the Oktober Guard. I mean, they're cool, but the originals weren't weird Halloween monsters.

as Scioli noted the original October Guard were kinda forgettable and one note, since they were pretty much just "Soviet Stereotype GI Joe Knockoffs", so he decided to do something different and took inspiration from their name, which is why they have the whole horror theme
