What is the Supervision army?

When two opposing factions emerged within the Protoculture, one created the Zentradi to fight for them while the other created the Supervision Army. Both were races of giant humanoids and they fought against each other for eons, eventually leading to the destruction of the Protoculture. The only piece of SA tech that we ever see is the ship that became the Macross (before it got rebuilt by humans).

the Supervision Army were zents that the protodeviln brainwashed.

Simply zentradi that was brainwashed by the Protodevlin.

The Protoculture made the Evil series, which got possessed by the Protodevlin. The Protodevlin then went on to brainwash zentradi, thus creating the Supervision army. The Protodevlin were then sealed, which led to remnants of the Supervision army just being hunted down. The zentradi has an instinctual fear of the Protodevlin, and the Varauta army is pretty much the neo-Supervision army.

In 7, Exedol said that there was something familiar about the enemies they are fighting early on.
