William Gibson's stuff. I really recommend Virtual Light -> Idoru -> All Tomorrow's Parties. Classic story of boy meets female AI.
Cordwainer Smith's stuff.
Solaris, Tales of Pirx the Pilot, whatever else by Lem
R.U.R.
War of the Worlds
Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep
I, Robot not to mention the Robots of Dawn etc
The Man who Sold the Moon
Left Hand of Darkness
Out of the Silent Planet because fuck you I like it.
I seem to recall Mike Resnick's books Santiago and Soothsayer being good space westerns but it's been a while. Can't remember if Oracle and Return of Santiago held up.

>R.U.R.
