Pretty sure Satelight see at least some return on it, since the anime is supposed to serve as advertisement for the albums. Even if they don't though, the music wouldn't get produced without the show so it still validates the show to the production companies involved. It's why Symphogear managed to last more than one season despite mediocre reception if I recall. I think Aquarion might have gotten sequels for the same reason.

Which is split up into various parties. Bandai gets all revenue from the BDs and merchandise since they are distributing them while Flying Dog gets all proceeding from the record sales because they're producing the music, there is not one sole person this money is going to just people who are getting a piece of the pie bit by bit its just that some people will get much larger portions than others or none of all and since Bandai didn't produce or distribute the music for Delta its portion will go as far as ad revenue or share holding which isn't much at all. In short if they were expecting a Love Live size hit with strong BD sales and strong music sales they'll most likely be disappointed (hell they'll be disappointed that it didn't have close to the same impact as Frontier) but since Macross is all about promoting its music it very much did its job and not much else.

Really neither Macrossfags or Gundamfags should be gloating since neither IBO or Delta sold as well as their predecessors from the last decade and pretty much sold the same amount despite having a fixed first volume promotion (IBO half off with a promo code, Delta event raffle ticket) plus they're pretty much owned by the same damn company. So...hooray for Bandai I guess?
>>
>>14542798
>Really neither Macrossfags or Gundamfags should be gloating since neither IBO or Delta sold as well as their predecessors from the last decade
If you know about sales like I am thinking you do, you wouldn't have this as a factor for either franchise as the economic situations are different compared to the 00s, especially something like Macross that has such giant gaps between TV series

Seriously nobody thought Macross would do as well as Frontier as it was a different time, the time where something like blu-rays being a factor at all was considered new and different

>it was a different time

People are still saying this shit with shows like Love Live! and Osomatsu-san selling over 100k BDs? There is no economic situations preventing these shows from selling big its largely due to the appeal not being there since not that much new people are getting into the franchise compared to 8 years ago. Its obvious that they wanted Delta (with its idol group motfit) and IBO (fujoshi pandering) to be big hits there's nothing you can say to convince me that they scaled back their expectations because Bandai isn't known for doing that and its the main reason Love Live! was such a huge hit because they pandered to EVERYONE. Now this doesn't change the fact that both shows are successful and Japan perusing other ventures beyond buying BDs may have put a dent in their sales but its not a definitive factor given those two outliers exist.
>>
>>14542857
Love live will sell 40-50k this season.

And that's fucking amazing. The last Gundam TV anime to sell 40k per volume or close to that proximity was the first season 00.It's also making a killing in the music sales better than Delta. This is no big deal at all since Gundam is a 50 billion yen brand and makes most of tits sales through merchandise and Delta is actually doing better than Frontier did in music sales at the same time period so there is profit being made regardless of BD sales not being up to snuff.
>>
>>14542893

Aqwhores actually are doing really poor in music so far compared to muses. Their first anime single will probably won't even outsell Delta's.
>>
>>14542910
Not as much as I expected, but I can at least be glad to say that these sales were achieved without any sales doping. So how do these sales compare to the Love Live! Season 2 CD sales (excluding the OP theme which had mobile game serial codes bundled)? In between the 2nd and 3rd insert song singles, so I think Aqours is doing very well considering they only debuted around a year ago.

Delta is good for the musics and the mecha's design of the Draken III, at least for me. Howerver, the story is week. Everything feels kind of empty of interesting twists, simpleton in plot and it's too straightforward, especially for something that's come 8 years later the last one.

>>14543029
He won't, 9999 for the 1st BD is pretty good, especially in this season.

He already planned a TV series of 26 episodes for the next year "Shoji Kawamori's "THE NEXT" Anime Project." Here is the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np0gCP-YNpQ

Considering some of the mecha that have come out recently that doesn't sound like a negative, especially "empty of interesting twists" because that one in particular has been awful for years now on mecha series

Bandai is basically Japanese Harmony Gold. It can distribute anime because it bought Delta distribution license from BigWest. They can sell merchandise because they bought delta license from BigWest. It's probably DELTA only license. It's LICENSE only. License on its own doesn't give Bandai ownership of IP.
And if tomorrow BigWest decides to make Macross Sigma it wouldn't need to ask any permission from Bandai. Because BigWest owns Macross IP.
Bandai is basically Japanese Harmony Gold for Macross.

Bandai own a part of Macross.
>>
Like for example here, screenshot from Dark Souls 3 game.
© Banda Namco.
They not only produce/dsitribute the game they also own the fucking copyright. They can make DS4, DS5, turn all characters into little girls, add mechas, rape it to the ground because they own Dark Souls IP.

But in case of Macross Delta they only can sell anime, merchandise, Delta related games and other stuff. And probably it gets majority of profits (if not all) from those sales according to license agreements. But Big West can switch production company to any other for their next Macros instalment.

>>14543441

Yeah, games. They created the games so they own the game as in their concept, gameplay, and other assets. It could be that Bandai even owns new characters from Macross 30 too.

That definitely proves the v1 screw-up. Whether it was Amazon or Oricon, someone didn’t report/count the Amazon edition of v1 to Oricon. Soundscan *did* count it, and so the Oricon 3,884 v1wk1 BDs have been replaced with the Soundscan 8,565 v1wk1 BDs. Soundscan is usually higher than Oricon by about 10%, but I figure that’s offset by using the lower Oricon number for wk2+. Should all even out more or less. v1 total is now 10,489. Still waaaaaaaay overestimated but only “waaaaaaaay” instead of “HOLYSHITWHAT”.

A copyright notice on the show itself is proof who owns it, since they put their mark on it when the were making it. And that counts more than any link anywhere, no matter how official you think it is. It's why Sunrise put their mark all over every episode of Gundam.

People say that it will drop hard, but if you check v1 stalker estimates vs v2 stalker estimates then you'll see drop is less than 20%. It's something on the level of other anime shows.

That's current points, but it has a whole month until release to gain more points. You need to add 最終予測累積ポイント.

2678 + 279 + 7154 + 1106 = 11,217 (this number obviously can increase or decrease every day since it's prediction)
Against volume 1 final estimate of 13,031.
It's 14% drop.
>>
>>14543809
>>Because we don't know how much it sold in its first week
But if you don't know how much it sold in its first week and you keep insisting on that, why are are you so sure it reached 10k? Like maybe it was 8 or 9k? Wouldn't that make just as much sense as a consistent growth toward it's final number? The fact is that there isn't a single actual source that says that it sold 10k in its first week
>>
>>14543441
Publisher doesn't mean they own it you retard.
>>
>>14543905
You're talking out your ass. Also volume 2 has no event ticket offer this time around and the staler estimates for volume 1 were also off.
>>
>>14543833
So Big West doesn't own Macross now. Got ya!
>>14543844
Then you didn't check the link dumbass and you;re still fucking wrong
>>
>>14543989
The first fucking thing I said is that its a guesstimate. I ask you to explain why are you using Oirocn's data when they obviously fucked up since volume 1's sales is 3k lower han volume 2 and since G-Reco didn't have an event ticket offer it makes no sense for that to happen. Someanithing already explained that he added the sound scan numbers to the DVD amount which came out to 10k for the first week.
>>
>>14541442
Only sold 9999 BD? Does it mean only 9.999?

Are those numbers good or bad?
>>
>>14544079

Again, a link on that site even if there is one doesn't prove anything since all it means is that ANN put a link to Bandai Visual's site on the page. Which doesn't mean anything. Why do you think their information is worth more than the copyright notice placed directly on every episode of the show in question?
>>
How much did frontier sell?
>>
>>14544096
>Only sold 9999 BD
That's the combined numbers for BD and DVD
>Are those numbers good or bad?
Frontier sold over 40k in its first week
>>
>>14544103
>It doesn't mean anything because I say so

It did. Fell free to prove me wrong though. Oh wait you can't.

>>
>>14544158
You literally can't prove otherwise
>>
>>14544150
>Copyright information links to Bandai Visual
>Ann direct information leads to Bandai Visual
>This means its own by Big West

Okay
>>
>>14544172

And again you're putting their word above the information included in every episode of the show. And I want to know why you think their word on the matter means more than the creators?
>>
>>14544171
Of course I can, its obvious that Oricon fucked up and sound scan reported that its total was over 10k in its first place when adding BD and DVD numbers so I don't get why you;re so adamant about this.
>>
>>14544189
And you;re ignnroing virtually every piece of info that has Bandai Visual next to it.
>>
>>14544227

Because the copyright information included in the episodes of the show itself means more than a game that has Bandai's name on it (which it's reasonable to suppose could be because they made the game) or a family run site saying they do. So again, I want to know why you think the actual show wouldn't include that information if it was true?
>>
>>14544247

> family

Fan even, damn you auto correct.
>>
>>14544247
>than a game
They distrbute the fucking BD/DVDs for the fucking franchise as well as make the fucking merchandise.
>>
>>14544288

And that doesn't mean they own it, only that they're the distributor. They might be more, but distributing the show isn't a way to prove that. Which is why I keep asking why you think they're not included in copyright information within the show itself if they own the show.
>>
>>14544211
I'm adamant because you can't provide a number at all that you either don't think is wrong or fake. You can't give a final number other than the one that has been released so on that note how can you yourself be so adamant about it if you are also saying it was a messup. Like can you even say what the specific final number even endedup being other than the reported 10,536? With your logic it could have been 16k or something since "we just don't know but I know it's this"
>>
>>14544172
Anon ANN no matter how important it thinks itself to be isn't official, and it can be wrong.

Whenever a show is owned by a company that company will put their mark on it. If you don't see the mark on the show itself then that means that they don't own it.
>>
>>14544354
>I'm adamant because you can't provide a number at all
But he did. Soneanithing confirmed that G-Reco sold 8k BDs in its first week through soundscan and he added the DVDs to it. You're fighting a losing battle here
>>
>>14545673
It's really too bad that soundscan no longer exists.

People like using disc sales to measure a toy centric (or CD centric in this case) success.

Reasons to shitpost in other words.

Alright I guess. The only time I ever thought that it would be relevant would be in determining if a show has a chance to have another season or if shit gets fucked (see Legend of Legendary Heroes)

But shitposting makes more sense.
