It's already had a prequel, a movie to wrap up the first season, and a second season.

Best we'll get for a while is maybe a second movie.

Kinda felt they were possibly setting up two sequels. One taking place maybe a couple years after Exodus to sort out Hester and the NUNs, and possibly a more distant sequel addressing Altair.

They could try to do both, but I felt they were implying contacting Altair to be a number of years away, and I don't think Hester would (or could) wait that long with her Maya fixation.

It's just one of those shows where it's kind of hard to really discuss, beyond "That was good" "Yeah it was"

That was such a strange season. Everyone assumed MJP would be awful, while Gargantia, and VVV would be great. VVV turned out to be a terrible show, and it wasn't even funny to watch past the first season, while Gargantia wasn't awful, but was bland and forgettable.

I seem to remember generally positive reactions to the first episode of MJP though I imagine there was the usual Hirai bitching. Though I can't say I ever disliked the guy. Scryed, Ryvius and Heroic Age where good shit.

Gargantia would be nice nice if that made an OVA that focuses on solely the space war they set up in the first episode, not just for the sake of more mecha battles because the first season was SOL, but it fuckin irked me that the entire show after ledo crashes, they don't touch back on the subject and gives us glimpses on how the conflict is going as well as how it got to such extremes.

It wasn't that kind of show, and it wasn't necessary.

The war between humans and those other humans was on an eternal cycle. There was not point in showing exactly the same thing over and over again. Ledo and whatever the other soldier was called escaped from it, the end.
