Actually, I was wrong on this. He actually translated "grandfather" as "father" and then translated "father" somehow into "Sayaka's father". So he was literally just making up dialogue for stuff he couldn't read.

As for me fucking up on the grandfather thing, I didn't realise the context because it had been over a year since I had read Mazinger Z, and I just wanted it done so yeah I fucked up big time.

I'm split on this. I appreciate that more translations of Nagai's stuff is being done. That said, the English does sound awkward. It's just not pleasant to read. I don't care about how close it gets to the original text as long as the same meaning is conveyed. The first Devilman translation I read that was previously on Bakabt had really terrible English. This kind of shit could actually make people think that the manga is worse than it actually is.

As long as you fix those later, I have no qualms.

I havent personally read these scanlations of Nagai stuff by Xpearse, so I cant judge, but the Terraformars stuff he scanlated sure scared me out of reading these as surprisingly the dialogue was harder to make sense than in the raws and almost everything about english grammar was completely bkackwards.
It´s a pity, because the guy clearly tries to do lots of fasts releases, but man, what I saw was seriously in need of an editor and real QC.
Not too mention that sometimes It reads like the dialogue is made up, yeah.
