I HATE THIS GUNDAM I HATE IT WITH A PASSION I HONESTLY THINK THE DESTINY GUNDAM IS THE WORST GUNDAM I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE
>>14529641
Hi wackymodder.
>>14529641
The Strike Freedom is worse, whats the point of having 5 different guns all pointed directly forward grouped in a small area during FULL BURST?
Fuck it, Cosmic Era suits are generally terrible and have way too much needless crap strapped to them.
>>14529641
I hated it too , but with a good redesign and a different color It has become quite cool. The blue red are more like a demon, the red- orange are more like a phoenix theme, that a like a lot.

>any gundam series worse than IBO
>>14529943
>being this stupid.
Nice.
Destiny is great when it doesn't follow Okawara's art.
>>14530024
why won't the wings fold back?
>>14529776
Heine's color palette works great in the Destiny. Regular Destiny is a bad mix of colors and gets even worse when the wings are activated
>>14529655
>Fuck it, Cosmic Era suits are generally terrible and have way too much needless crap strapped to them.
It's really a massive sign of the difference between Fukuda and Tomino's Gundam.
Tomino didn't want the Gundam to be toyetic, but he had to in order to get the show made. Parade color-scheme, Gundam hammer, G-Armor, Guntank, all things he didn't want and got rid of what he could in the compilation movies.
Fukuda, on the other hand, had his more toyetic machines pulling off super robot poses. You get stuff like the Anti-ship swords, the Raider Gundam, Shinning Finger, stuff that makes little sense other than it's trying to look cool to kids. And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Fukuda consult his son on MS design?
Tomino was more invested in telling his story, while Fukuda tried to look cool and sell toys.
>>14530229
Tomino didn't get rid of the parade color scheme in the movies and while Fukuda didn't show his son a model since he was son was a grown adult with a job as an animator by the time it happened he did show it to a kid in school. There was a thread about Okawara's autobiography a few days ago that had him recounting it.
>>14530024
Agreed. And there are a lot of modified models that work better than the original.
>>14530249
I don't think he could have gotten rid of that iconic color scheme at that point if he wanted to, he did definitely pare down a lot of the other stuff though.
>>14530249
Wasn't the input from the kid the reason that the ZAFT head fins were so large?
>>14530386
Fuck that kid, and fuck Fukuda, and fuck his cancerous bitch of a writer wife.
>>14529641
Fuck off, OP. Wackymodder was more subtle about this than you.
>>14529936
>one hour
You know I'd shit on the guy for making an hour long rant about a Gundam design but then I realized there are people out there who seriously watched this whole video and probably enjoyed every minute of it.
>>14529641
No way, man. Nix Providence is much, much worse.
Unless you mean the show and not the MS itself, in which case you're still wrong because Wing and Reco exist.
Gundams that have wings are gay.
>>14530116
The only real problem with Heine's Destiny is that it's Heine's.
Just why does this thing even exist?
>>14529641
To be fair, it was made for the worst pilot.
>>14530578
Pretty sure the premise is that Heine's Destiny was the original Destiny - then he went and died like a bitch, so Durandal figured Shinn should get it.
>Gundam
That's clearly a Fafner OP.
>>14530229
wasn't the guntank part of the original pitch with the guncannon and gundam itself?
>>14530662
>>14529641
Love both the mech and its pilot!
>>14530661
What info there is doesn't say that Heine's Destiny Gundam was left to Shinn, but it'd be better than them having an incomplete Destiny Gundam lying around that they stopped work on and then just started building another for Shinn.

>>14530661
But the issue that there was a Destiny being made for Heine at all. Why does this random jackass get a Gundam when everybody else in the army (including him) is fielding ZAKUs and GOUFs?
Though I guess I may as well ask why ZAFT decided to make the Freedom, Justice, Providence, and whatever the other two were all of a sudden.
>>14531130
Why did ZAFT build Gundams at all? The design doesn't fit with their aesthetic. Why would they make mobile suits that look like EA models?
>>14530661
Which is wrong. Destiny was specifically built and constructed by Durandal for Shinn using his battle data from Impulse.
Heine's is just a cheap non canon cash in.
>>14529936
To be fair, it's an alright looking gundam
>>14529641
It's definitely one of the worse ones. Not the worst, but pretty bad.
>>14529776
Yeah, but at that point it's no longer the Destiny Gundam. The Metal Build version is basically an entirely new MS, aesthetically speaking.
>>14530024
>>14530325
When you need to redesign it in order for it to look good, it's a bad design.
>>14529641
at least that's not double zeta.
I can't like a gundam that transforms
and I can't help but hate a gundam that forms from three core fighters and has everything strapped to it
>>14531218
In-story reason: Mess with the minds of the EA soldiers by using their best weapon against them (which they were already doing by deploying Aegis and crew in combat about five seconds after stealing them).
Real reason: *insert buzzwords about Fukuda being a hack*
>>14529641
Calm down wacky
>>14529641
That's not ugly Gendum Exia
>>14530229
Did Fukuda do the Anno Domini Gundams too?
>>14530662
This nigga knows what's up
>>14530229

>having a child draw over okawara's lineart
I've always despised Fukuda, but this is a new low
>>14529776
>>14530116
these are totally the same Mobile Suit, you guyz
I guess the idea behind the Destiny was to make a Gundam that had all the capabilities of all the Strike Gundam's Striker Packs in one... except not be the Strike+IWSP, and not be the Perfect Strike... and also give it mittens like those of the Crossbone X-3 and the God Gundam, for some damn reason.
Uch. What a crappy design. Those wings look like they were swiped from the mecha of some other universe. They don't match the aesthetic of the rest of the MS at all.
>>14529641
Go to bed wacky
>>14530229
CE's stuff could easily be remedied if they had paid attention to the MS tech and whatnot like they did for the timeline.
The timeline for CE was pretty damn good.
Fukuda was the fucking problem.
I think it's good if you use it correctly.
>>14532071
Now put the RX-78-2's line art against some of it's gunpla and plamo like the Fix Figurations, which add a lot more detail and even change the shape of some parts. It's not like the Destiny is exclusive in the models being different to the lineart.
It's like Obari Nu Gundam. The proportions and details are so different that it's virtually a different thing.
>>14533389
Nu-face looks good to me.
>>14533352
>CE's stuff could easily be remedied if they had paid attention to the MS tech and whatnot like they did for the timeline.
Except they didn't pay attention to the timeline, at least not in the show itself. There's a bunch of those details, like how the EA was newly formed, how there were Earth nations supporting ZAFT, or even how ZAFT was fighting for it's independence, stuff like that that was completely left out of the show itself. Gundam SEED, in some respects, is almost divorced from the rest of the timeline.
Fukuda was the problem on this. The Cosmic Era had many people's input, many people coming up with ideas in order to make it the next great Gundam. Genetic modification? That was the idea of one of the producers and not Fukuda himself. Hell, the man didn't even want to make it a war story. But there were many people trying to make this thing work, to make a true successor to the original.
The timeline from official websites was created by other staff, not Fukuda or Morosawa themselves. Those two pretty much ignored the work other people had done and instead just focused on the story they wanted. It was this lack of care that ultimately did them in, regardless of the criticisms they received.
>>14533805
All the work on those details, all wasted because Fukuda was given the job.
>>14533811
Fukuda, moron that he is, was also Bandai's wet dream. He isn't an artist type, he's they type of director who only cares that people are entertained. If Bandai or the TV station ask for something, Fukuda will do it. Buster sales were bad? Dearka switches teams. Producers demanded he make scenes more shocking and cruel. Even the message of "people have no reason to fight, so war is pointless" came from one of the producers.
I'm guessing that they lost control of him during Destiny.
>>14533823
By Destiny they were so desperate for that Seed money to keep flowing that they just let him do whatever. Since their attempt to get at the UC crowd again with Shinn failed (They still weren't interested, and regular CE fans were clamouring for more Kira even before Kira showed up again) they let him bring back his Seed characters.
Of course the mismanagement and time crunch soured Bandai on Fukuda which is why he hasn't worked much since, but that's not entirely Fukuda's fault, because Bandai rushed Destiny into production with alot less preproduction prep time than he should have had (Again, because they got their first taste of cash in a while and wanted more) and he couldn't keep up.
As Seed proper and Cross Ange showed, quality and taste aside Fukuda can run a show without being so behind that the stations almost had nothing to show several times if he has a proper production time.
>>14534200
>UC fans weren't interested and regular CE fans were clamouring for more Kira even before Kira showed up again
Isn't it sad, Shinn? too bad they didn't give you character development after Kira hijacked the show
>>14536981
>Guys, this is my show, what are you doing here?
>C'mon, you already had SEED. LET ME HAVE THIS.
>>14534200
Why does Japan have such shit taste as to worship characters like Kira and Lacus?
Is it something to do with their desire to be genetically superior with the yamato damashii of their nippon samurai blood that doesn't transfer across nations well?
>>14537066
They love flawless insert characters. Just look at the wave of Isekai type series over on /a/. The MC is generally bland, only gives the illusion of having flaws instead of actually having a meaningful flaw, and generally has some super special unique snowflake ability or feature right off the bat. And Japan eats it up because its the ultimate self insert that lets them live out their power trip fantasy.
Kira is the same, just in a mecha series.
>>14537095
> The Wset loved flawless insert characters. Just look at the wave of feminist lead types over the last decade. > Rey is the same, just in a mecha series.
It always strikes me as funny that people think this is something only Japanese people are guilty of. It's not even new, since in the West literary tradition a lot of ancient fictional characters are the same. As are the accounts of a lot of the possibly real, possibly fictional names from history like Jesus, Plato and Charlemange.
