It entirely depends on the when, but even if it's a late 2017 release, I'll bet they'll sneak one last trailer in late in the year.

1 was in... What, January or something? 1.5 was in like March, and 2 was during the anniversary event in June.

That's about two months in between each PV so I'm confident they'll have one before the end of the year

>>14522303
What does this mean?
>>
>>14522316
>So, are the braves bad in this game?

Still good, but you can't get more casts of their damage spirits, since courage almost drains all your sp.

Oh, and King J-Der is practically invincible, but he's the biggest EN whore in the entire game.
>>
>>14522322
>but he's the biggest EN whore in the entire game.
J-Ark has a 20 ammo attack that will easily one-shot most grunts. RaijinOh is way worse in the EN department, but it does get built in EN Regen based on the level of a skill the pilot has.
>>
>>14522300
>What am I in for?
A fairly solid game that fixes a few issues with UX's engine but is in general worse than UX. Compared to the fall from W to K it's nothing at all.

>What units are good?

I'd say all of them, but I can't. So I will instead say "all of them EXCEPT the Grancieres."

>How can I easily break the game?

Field Gaogaigar and Mic Sounders in every stage.

You don't even need to worry about complex setup, buffing any one given unit, or anything else really - just doing that will do you well enough. You'll discover the true cream of the crop through playing.

>>14522305
>Gorg

We kind of overestimated Gorg. He's good, but he's not OHKO THE ENTIRE GAME good.

>>14522308
>which is not a good thing in

I'd argue that getting Soul is bad too, as it is barely an upgrade over Hot Blood for a higher cost.

>>14522316
Brave is still a thing and still amazing and they all still get level 9 somehow.

In terms of combat ability, King J-Der is either the best unit at killing single units in the game or the second best - I say best by a slight edge because of the J-Ark's 20 Ammo move that OHKOs all grunts being slightly better than what the Nadesico Y-Unit can spam.

Gaogaigar upgrades to Star in the 10s and gets a finisher that is one of the strongest solo finishers in the game. Freely. He also has Dividing Driver, which you will love forever.

Mic Sounders has Disk P, which you will love forever. He's also a competent sniping unit once he gets Disk X. I think he has good MAPs, too, but I didn't bother with MAPs in BX because they'd crack the game in half.

Big Volfogg is one of many units with "1-4/1-3/1-2", a bloc of units that (with a few guys of similar ranges) you'll probably field a few of. It's pretty damn solid, amazing at dodging and taking hits, but that's standard in BX.

Chouryujin and Gekiryujin are the... "least good" of the bunch, but one of the secrets is Maximum Tou Long and it's pretty strong.

It's really not, unless you're playing Lunatic on a fresh save file or something.

FMW is still pretty easy, it's just tougher than your average SRW game since you can't casually trample over every boss. "Tougher than your average SRW game" is a really fucking low bar though.
>>
>>14522433

Nah that doesn't sound right. It should be M at least. It's massive compared to the Arbalest.
>>
>>14522433
Is that J?

Remember that J decreed a 25 or so meter tall mech is L size. And that at various points, the 55 meter tall Shin Getter Robo has been only M size.

Sieg Zeon being M is the most hilarious thing though. Mostly because it's accurate.

Pretty much.
On Rand's route he's a bro, on Setsuko's he's a dick.
>>
>>14522436
BMW has probably the most atrocious SRW endgame I have ever seen.

Just miles and miles of uselessly weak enemies that you are completely unable to kill in a reasonable time frame. The Hollow Ataraxia finale in particular was the pits.
>>
>>14522448
Why is everyone a dick to Setsuko
>>
>>14522448

Setsuko's people are working for the guy who sent assasins to his house after all.
>>
>>14522453

Well she is working with a faction that tried to kill him previously and when he shows up she's in the middle of blowing up his countrymen.
>>
>>
>>14522418
>>14522436
Comparing FMW to BMW is kinda funny, because where the former has tons of units with different niches, the latter has an incredibly anemic list of playable units, all of which end up extremely samey.

In BMW, you are either the Realest Real, the Superest Super, Designated Support Attacker, or a heal/refill bot.

FMW1 is a very short game, so the stage/character design is all very tight. You only get 10 playable characters total, and most of them aren't that great so what specialties they do have (Keine is the only person resembling a tank, Alice has the highest Critical rate so she's the best Support Attacker, Cirno has Grit) stand out.

FMW2 introduces Personal Skills, which are basically swappable Ace Bonuses. This gives a lot of characters some cool gimmicks (Komachi gets infinite range attacks, Mokou can resurrect once, Friendship Bonuses out the wazoo), and beyond that there's the Cost system which makes it so that even characters who fulfill similar niches can be distinct because one is a lower Cost than the other.

FMW3 is where the game really kicks it into gear, with a huge expansion to the amount of playable characters, and with it a bunch more Personal Skills and Cost tiers.

But if you want specific examples, here's a breakdown of each of the tanks:

Keine: Your first one, and mostly support oriented with Trust and natural Support Attack. Gets outdated defensively as soon as you enter FMW2, but remains in the game with the one of the strongest finishers. Gets an upgrade midway through FMW3 to become more offensive, at the cost of her MP efficiency.

Rumia: Real shit defensively, but the lowest Cost. Gets accuracy debuffs and a cheap Daunt, and has a Laser barrier so she can stonewall certain bosses. Eventually gets a PS that makes using certain characters more feasible.

Meiling: The overall best tank. High defensive stats, good spirits (she gets Grit!), a good selection of PS (too good in fact; do you take Prevail on overdrive, Shield Defense, or HP Regen?), and great availability. Only flaw is she's the slowest.

Momiji: Entirely reliant on Shield Defense to tank (though she has a PS that gives it a 100% activation rate in exchange for half damage), but great MP efficiency and good damage output. And for what it's worth, she has a cheap Snipe.

Chance of Victory was never used in default in MD right? I didn't even know it was in the game until I looked in the BGM list.

This would be one thing the Z games did right. The option to set BGMs for attacks. I would've gladly used this song for Akemi's finisher instead if I was allowed to. I'd also like to hear Rim's finisher BGM for Fortegigas one of these days as well.
>>
>>14522527
Luna: lol (secretly has the most friends in the game, so she can get ridiculous friendship bonuses)

Yukari: Barrier focused unit with a pile of really weird PS. Has Dream, that old spirit that lets her cast any spirit your current team has access to. Almost no P moves whatsoever, obviously designed to stay in the backrow.

Kanako: Not that sturdy, all things considered, but she has one of the highest base damage finishers in the game and a Command aura. Also great ranges.

Yuyuko: Complete fucking horseshit good. Great damage, an insane PS that makes her dodge whenever Shield Defense would've activated, buckets of SP, and for some inexplicable reason two equip slots when everyone else in her Cost tier only has one.

Palanquin Ship: It's the battleship. It has Grit and Alert, and an actually decent finisher all things considered.

Kaguya: Has the best barrier in the game, and a high level of HP Regen. Becomes unkillable if you build her right.

Oh, and of course:

Nitori: The fucking worst. She has an S Rank in Water, so I'd almost compare her to Getter 3, but at least Getter 3 can swap to Getter 1 or 2 in other stages. Her claim to fame in the first game was "Starts with Support Defend AND Attack so Keine doesn't completely outclass her", and she got worse from there.

I guess having only one set of characters with wildly different powers to work with allows for some wilder unit design.
SRW games usually mostly just differentiate units by whether or not they have high or low HP and how much damage their attacks do.

They didn't keep it for MD? Weird, I thought it was still in 2nd's list.
>>
>>14522538
One thing that wasn't mentioned is that meaningful range is also still a thing with FMW unit designs while entirely lacking for the most part in SRW nowadays - bosses don't all immediately have 1-12 range, 0 EN cost attacks to counter anything you could do to them without resorting to Spirit Spam.

And incidentally, FMW characters also don't all come with Flash/Endure and Guard got nerfed to 50%... basically, the Spirit loadouts are a lot less generic than they are nowadays.

You put those two together and you actually have to get somewhat creative with how you take down bosses instead of it being a really routine task.
>>
>>14522614
Bosses in FMW are still pretty routine. Since most of them boil down to, how many support attacks can I cram in before I need to hit the boss with before I resort to someone who doesn't have a proper defensive spirit getting a hit in.

You might throw down a bomb on a couple of the more annoying spell cards but since you always have one of the healers around, that's not an issue.
>>

>>14522513
You have Folka for practically the entire Shura arc in OGG which is like the last 13/14 stages of a 37 stage game.
>>
>>14522626
Use R-Gun in the MB then.
>>
>>14522617
It kind of depends? On harder difficulties bosses tend to have enough HP that you can't muscle your way through their spells. And on fresh playthroughs, you generally want to take it slow so you don't run into any bad surprises like the next spellcard being a MAP and oh hey all of your units have already exhausted their turns.

Either way, there's still a decent variety between "this is some random chump, their spells aren't that bad" and "this person is important, they have tons of cards with all sorts of effects". And most importantly, the fact that there are distinct phases at all with constant rewards makes the fights a lot more engaging than your average SRW boss, where it's just "deplete their HP until they reach an arbitrary point, deplete their HP again, and then maybe do it one more time while cool music plays".

Which happens in FMW anyways, but it's the presentation that matters, you know?
>>
>>14522617
Support Attack spam is the best strategy, but it's not like it's the only one.

One of the nicer things about FMW is that if you choose to do a run focusing on specific units, you can end up with wildly different experiences. An average run of FMW3 with a team full of protagonists can feel very typical-SRWey since you're using the best of the best, but a run focusing on the MoF units teaches you the supremacy of Shizuha (since she can shotgun a kick), rely a bunch on Kanako's command aura, and play around a lot more with Sanae's Faith gauge.

FMW3 is one of the most replayable SRW games in my opinion. Figuring out how to tackle the various challenges certain bosses present is really great.

Well except when you reach the SSiB arc and most of the characters on your team leave, but that's interesting in its own right.

That's no different to a NUR of SRW being vastly different to a standard one since you actually have to pay attention to people's weaknesses and the so called "OP" characters aren't so OP anymore.

With regards to FMW, even if you try to use nothing but protags, I find that you tend to end up with some side characters anyway thanks to the Cost system. Some of the so called protags aren't very good either like Remilia.

I kind of wish more bosses were like Yorihime since that was the only boss in 3 that felt really fun. Eirin's stage had a nice setup too but she's kind of papery on lower difficulties.

Not to mention absurd stacking of friendship bonuses. Nearly everyone in MoF has friendship with each other, and most of them have natural support attack and/or defense, so parking them in a big blob can be an extremely powerful strategy. If you do it right, Sanae can actually max out her friendship bonuses, a feat usually reserved for far weaker units.

>and that's what makes it fun.
Opinions I guess, a game that gives you tons of "I win" buttons isn't a good game for me.
>>14522779
>Because when everything is broken then nothing is.
No, especially because classes like Thief, who are one of the few exceptions in the broken balance end up being useless and irrelevant compared to monsters like Mystic Knights, Samurai, Time Mages or Blue Mages.
>it's way more preferable than FFVI and it's Esper system or VII and it's Materia system.
It's literally the exact same concept but with less slots for abilities, the fact that there are less command slots than FFVI/VII is also irrelevant because you get all inclusive commands like Time Magic instead of using single magic materias or a esper to learn a few skills.
You're complaining about the same exact system design but with less menu commands and arguably even worse balance, that's what I don't understand.
Then again, I play series that usually have the opposite problem where you have only one or two gamebreaking tools that also come late in the games so I don't really understand this kind of problem /vr/ has with FF other than V, I get that it could be fun to break the game, but I don't understand why people defend V when it does the same exact thing, if not less elegantly than other FF games like VI/VII and even VIII.

>>14522821
>Thing is you can create balance out of being stupidly broken
That's something you can do in all games, even SRW can be somewhat vaguely "balanced" if you use the underdogs without broken skill parts or parts, that's just you voluntarily handicapping yourself.
Like, I can play FFVIII without using Junctions and shit, but that doesn't make the game any less of a broken mess, FFV is the same.
Sure, instead of making 4 Mystic Knights machinegunning flare imbued duel swords or Time Mages spamming Meteor like no tomorrow I can make a party with a Thief, Monk, White Mage and maybe sneak in a Ninja, sure, that's way less insultingly broken, but the game is still easy and I'm really purposedly gimping myself trying to make a game a bit interesting, that's not what a good game should be.
And mind you, it's not like a most RPGs aren't any different, western or not, but at least many of those spice it up with convoluted mechanics you have to really know inside out, FFV is so simple you don't even need that, it's basic math and logic.
Then again, I'm just getting older and I have much more knowledge of the genre, so maybe I'm being a bit too hard, after all FF wasn't a gameplay intensive game since maybe FFIII, but I just can't understand why of all the entries in the franchise FFV is so adamantly defended as mechanically fun, even FFII fans aren't so vocal.

China works better at the front of her own squad, where she can cover other people as well.

Flan works a lot better with Rumia. The night terrain activates her regen, her S ranks, and frees up her item slot for something more useful than a parasol. And Rumia can support defend a hit or two if necessary, so you don't have to worry too much about getting into a position where Meiling can't catch up to support defend her.

>>14522844
>That's something you can do in all games, even SRW can be somewhat vaguely "balanced" if you use the underdogs without broken skill parts or parts, that's just you voluntarily handicapping yourself.
I'm talking more about games which assume you're going to minmax and break it anyway and the end game ends up basically one huge puzzle which is what the Bravely series did successfully.

FF in general is very simple mechanically, one could argue even Pokemon is more advanced than FF gameplaywise. But it's more like a byproduct of the times, only real thing the series has going for it is the characters/settings/worlds so I guess that is why it gets a pass.
>>
>>14522854
Oh right forgot about Rumia, she is suprisingly tanky for a Stage 1 boss and a S sized 2 cost unit. Does help too Flan has the raw power to justify using Rumia unlike Remi who doesn't do anything particularly well and has a horrible spirit list. Even Rumia herself isn't too bad since she can shotgun with her strongest attack which is pretty rare.

Would you buy an OGs + OGG remake that is using OG2nd/OGMD's engine?

All 3 games in 1, has the newer Twin System that you can make pairings in Intermission Menu instead of the silly 110 will to make Twin shit while keeping things like Attacker & SP Regen.

Yahoo auctions, Rakuten and Suruga-Ya. Also a Malaysian seller on ebay. A really nice person to talk to, I just bought the Granzon and Gespenst Type R from him.
They are normal ABS (not sure, have to check the boxes) figures. R-1 is the one I wanted most, and luckily it's the most posable figure of the line. Only the latest ones are better (Raioh and Compatikaiser).
Aesthetically-wise they are pretty good.

Y'know that's an interesting question, in Alpha 3 the two Psychodrivers split off with one staying on earth and another leaving for what would become Balmar. But where did the Zuvorg come from? Were they a faction that didn't go with Irui or Augustus and that's why none of the Zuvorg alliance members are Psychodrivers?
>>
>>14523039
The thing about kanji is that they actually make Japanese a lot easier. Grabbing a bunch of words from Chinese and (mostly) dropping the tones means an absolute mess of homophones.
>>
>>14523166
Wasn't there a part in Z3 where there were lines entirely in Hiragana?

That sure was something to look at.
>>
>>14523174
Sometimes you'll see characters tossed around whose lines are entirely in katakana (the Zoids Genesis enemies come to mind). It may seem simpler, but it's a bitch and a half to read unless their dialogue is extremely basic. Japanese has a ton of homophones, and the lack of spaces massively exacerbates the issue.
>>
>>14523163

Probably. Some games are all or mostly in hiragana too, like Dragon Quest, Mother, or Hero Senki. It makes things easier for kids who are still learning their kanji, but it can also be hard to read for the reasons >>14523195 said.

I remember reading once that Shigesato itoi played Dragon Quest and read all the dialog out-loud to himself because that was the easiest way to understand all hiragana. Has anoyone else heard of that?

>Bad list of friendships.
>Melee 1 range finisher.

She is fun to use, and definitely a key player in a SDM run, but on a normal run there are so many better characters that there's really no reason to bother.

Mokou and Marisa have similarly high damage outputs, and they aren't nearly as annoying to use. For almost the same cost as Flan you can deploy both Akis, who get ludicrous Friendship bonuses and a surprisingly strong finisher. And, you know, if you really want an all-or-nothing 1 range melee finisher so much, Youmu is right there.
>>
>>14523751
Mathematically Flandre looks really cool, but deploying her basically forces you to deploy Meiling with Scarlet Dragon, Rumia with Night, and Koakuma. Those are characters you might have deployed anyways, but now instead of using them for the entire army you have to devote them all to Flandre. That's 9.0 Cost right there, and possibly even 12.5 if you decide to deploy Remilia so you can get Scarlet Charisma and Flandre's main Friendship bonus.

It's the same reason why Kanako/Suwako is such a shit team. If you're going to suck up that much Cost, you'd better be fucking amazing.
>>
touhoushitters/fatefaggots GET OUT
>>
>>14523751
Flan having a 1 range finisher really is a deal breaker. For those unfamiliar, the optimal strategy in FMW is to surround the boss with a properly set up formation of Support Attackers and Defenders. By FMW3, 1 range is the most hotly contested spot in the entire game because there's a lot of units who want to be there and you want the best possible ones since you're going to be abusing the shit out of Support Attack.

Worse yet, in an ordinary run one of those four essential spots is probably already taken by Reimu. That leaves three spots, and Mokou, Youmu, Reisen, Meiling, Keine, Flandre, Remilia, Shizuha, Momiji, Sanae, the Palanquin Ship, and probably a couple of other units are all decent choices.

A fair bit of those units that you mentioned either have finishers that can easily slot in for the 2+ range spots if you don't mind losing the shotgunning bonus or are better served acting as back row.

Flan having 1-1 finisher is a balancing thing since she's a consistent damage dealer that doesn't need to that much extra help.

Alright, /srwg/, it is yet another hypothetical that I foresee.
You're in class as Miss Alfimi makes her pass. She hands you your test, and she is not impressed.
An F, written in lipstick, adorns your paper, as well as an aroma - such a sweet smelling vapour.

"Oh drats, how ever could I have failed? If mother and father find out, my television privileges may just be curtailed!"

Undressing you with her prurient eyes (to say nothing of her licentious thighs), Miss Alfimi offers you a grand reprise.

"I hope to see you in my office by six, after class, with no conflicts. Maybe we can give this grade a fix, and maybe I can teach you a few new tricks~"

With a situation from the Beyond, I can only ponder how you all would respond.

The command aura competes with the faith buff from Sanae.

I really think that a lot of the 3.5 units either need buffs or their costs dropped.
>>
>>14523751
Most of those issues are fixed instantly when you pair her with Rumia. The range is an issue, but her damage output is high enough that I feel justified in giving her a 1-range slot. Her durability is fine against grunts thanks to good stats and S ranks, though you do admittedly need Meiling for bosses (but then, having Meiling for bosses is a good idea regardless). The will dependence is annoying, but not terrible. EN isn't an issue because of her natural regen and high EN pool (by the end of my run, Flan was regenerating enough for about 1.5 finishers every turn). So basically you're left with something similar to Mokou, with slightly more will dependence, but less EN problems and substantially more damage. I'd say that's worth it.
>>
>>14523987
Yes, actually, they do. Any upgrades you made in the previous game carry over, including items you get and stats you buff. Each time you carry over you get a specific item that signifies the last game, as well. 1 to 2 gives you something that doesn't do much in 2 but is actually useful in 3, and 2 to 3 is equally broken.
>>
>>14523987
Yes, copy your clear game save and your system save into the FMW2 savedata folder and it'll let you continue straight from it into FMW2. Same goes for FMW2 into FMW3.

The only things you will outright miss from just starting a new save in FMW2 and 3 are drop items from previous games, Marisa's friendship bonuses with Alice/Patchouli/Nitori, and a free two upgrades to everyone in Sakuya's secret FMW1 route.

What are you having trouble with in 15 in particular? It's a tough chapter, but unless you've really screwed up your characters it's doable.
>>
>>14523993
Screw Moriya God, Virtue of Wind God is hands down one of the most important personal skills in the game on Lunatic runs.

Most of the 3.5 units honestly are the best at what they do. It's just that what they do is not necessarily something you'd ordinarily find yourself doing in a SRW game.
>>
>>14523780
Most of those dont really need to be adjacent. Mokou, Flan, Reimu, Marisa, Youmu, and maybe Shizuha are the only genuine contenders for those slots. The others are either busy support defending, or get very little out of adjacency (the ship can't even shotgun, as its finisher is melee. Same for Sanae, unless you're using maxgod, and that's even more impractical than using Flandre).
>>
>>14524001
Yukari, Yuyuko and Eirin are the only 3.5s that feel worth the cost because they're that good.

The Scarlet sisters have a lot of handicaps (some for balancing and some are just plain awkward), Kanako and Suwako could stand to get a little more and Suika is just plain bad.

Also, as far as i'm concerned, Lunatic's meta is far different to that of the other difficulties. Its like comparing someone in a modern EX-Hard run to a vanilla one.
>>
>All "Gespenst" units within Leadership aura's (own included) final damage +5%
>None of the New Aggressors members use a Gespenst in MD

T-thanks, Banpresto
>>
>>14523994
What are you even talking about? Her Vampire MP regen is 10%. Even at the absolute highest possible regen (fully upgraded EN, took the +100 EN FUB, gave her a Grimoire) she's regening 54 MP a turn, which is nowhere near the 95 MP Four of a Kind requires. It's not even close to the 76 MP it costs with MP Save.

You'd need to pin the Sunflower on her instead to get high enough MP regen to go anywhere, but even then she'd be regenning only 94 MP a turn. Which, given that your average Support Attacker will probably be dropping 2-3 finishers a turn, is nowhere near high enough to keep going.

Other units also run into this problem, but those other units are allowed to just let somebody else refill their MP. Flandre can't do this because her damage boosting PS requires her to be at 170 Power at all times, which forces you to blow all of Koa's Devotes on her instead.

Again it's fine if you like using her, because I can appreciate the concept of devoting a ton of resources into one unit and watching them go nuts. But you can't seriously say Flandre is actually a superior unit.
>>
>>14524015
Is Eirin really better than just deploying Dai and Koa individually, though? Sure, she's more durable, and you might get a bit of damage out of her, but you're giving up some support capability since she only gets one turn instead of two. She also has considerably less SP than the pair, and gives up Dai's bless/cheer options.
>>
What if OG takes the tactician feature from UX and BX?
>>
>>14524015
Eirin's cost destroys her because for 3.5 I could literally just deploy Koakuma and Daiyousei instead.
>>
>>14524029
Yes, I gave her the sunflower. She was regaining 70-80 per turn. Granted, that's less than she'll soend if she's dropping five finishers every turn, but it lets you get pretty aggressive on the grunts (thus building up her will) while still having all her MP left to drop on the boss. And with her huge MP pool, combined with that regen, she can drop a lot of 48-76 cost finishers on things.
>>
>>14524015
Suika is hilarious because Yuugi blows her out of the water in every conceivable way, and is a 3.0 to boot.

I think someone on the development team just hated her, like they did with Aya in FMW2.

Anyways I view 3.5 not as the "best of the best" tier, but "has neat gimmicks you will likely center your party around" tier. 3.0 is where all the real shit wreckers are IMO.
>>
>>14524038
What is tactician? Never played 3DS SRWs
>>
>>14524030
>>14524040

It's probably a playstyle thing because more often than not, I never found myself in need of two pure support units. I bring Dai along for Cirno though.
>>
>>14524043
The only 3.0 that's not hilariously powerful is Ran, and even she's quite good, especially on NG+.
>>
>>14524041
So you had to fully upgrade her, give her one of the best items in the game, further babysit her by purposefully deploying a shit unit in her back slot, devote the best tank in the game just for her so she doesn't die against bosses, and you still think she's worth it?

Well okay I guess.
>>
>>14524044
UX introduced a system where you get various tacticians or cheerleaders, can choose one, and they give you a number of bonuses - I have a sneaking suspicion SD Gundam Sangokuden (and 00 to some extent) had a lot to do with that given the original crop of them. - and they were also involved in secrets. It was a good system, but ran into the glaring problem that the game gives you Zhuge Liang first and then never gives you a compelling reason to switch from his increasingly madhouse bonuses outside of secrets. BX nerfed the fuck out of the system and made it so no one was Zhuge Liang level, but by the endgame you still had quite a few fairly broken Tacticians.
>>
>>14524043
Yuugi was the best. It's the first time I've ever just thrown someone out of my endgame SRW team because this random person who joined at the ass end of the game was completely overpowered in every conceivable way.
>>
>>14524038
I'd be pretty happy with that.

>>14524044
You get a total of three bonuses depending on the Tactictian you choose before the stage.

They generally start with one and then gain two more as the game progresses.

In UX, the bonuses were straight forward. The result is that Tacticians range from either eh, pretty good, or Mary Zhuge.
In BX, they introduced a mechanic in which the effects of the Tactician's bonuses upgraded the more you used said Tactician, and also made the bonuses a more specific and circumstantial. The result is that Tacticians aren't really all that great in BX.
>>
>>14524069
What was Zhuge Liang's bonus?

I got UX but I haven't gotten very far in it due to EO4 taking up all of my time.
>>
>>14524038
I'd rather take the custom bonus you get by upgrading 50% and the full bonus when you 100%
>>
>>14524056
It's a shame that Zhuge is what he is in UX.
Without him, there's a pretty interesting selection of Tacticians to choose from. I'd say that they contributed a lot in making my UX NURs more fun.
>>
>>14524050
Not him but all I really needed for Flan was max EN and Rumia and she did her job just fine. Meiling was busy elsewhere so that she could take heat off from characters who don't like getting stray hits.
>>
>>14523996

I fucked up on Keine's build I fear, but my main problem is that Flan puts out way too much damn damage and by the time I'm even in a position to begin attacking half my units are dead.

Ironic as I never really had trouble with the game until that moment.

You've still got supers that dodge like reals and reals that dodge like demigods and Zeorymer wiping out everything on the map. >>14524075
Yeah. Honestly if it was just his first two and then his last was, I dunno, one of the "give random part" bonuses, there'd probably be a much more competitive spot competition.

BX's are typically more situational, but a few notable lategame bonuses still stand out, so it's more competitive. That was nice. It'd be nicer if Barrier Pierce wasn't borked but oh well.
>>
>>14524080

>>14524081

I found Vorlent more BS than Granteed ever was. 10 EN attack that hits as hard as Bellzuette's finisher, Medium EN regeneration, amazing stats, FUCKING ORGONE CLOUD.

Then it turns into the Raftclanz and utterly shits all over any challenge there was to begin with. Having a shield power in addition to Orgone Cloud is insane (Well, so long as it was patched)
>>
>>14524088
It really is.

The other SD Sangokuden tacticians truly suffer, as they are all great and get high level bonuses very soon after Zhuge... But they get nothing like fucking "+1 Terrain Modifiers" so they're screwed.
>>
>>14524078
As long as Keine has Support Defend, you're golden.

With Flandre, you need to turtle like a bitch. Form up all of your units so that either Keine or Nitori is in range to Support Defend them, and Dai is in position to heal either of them. With the exception of Four of a Kind (which is the only real problem spot, smash through it ASAP), Flandre only gets one attack a turn so as long as you can redirect it to one of your tanks (or Cirno with Grit on), you're golden.

The Flandre fight is mostly a battle of conserving as much MP as you possibly can while still doing enough damage to make it through the spells. Near the end you'll get a break with And Then Will There Be None, which is disorienting at first but really convenient once you learn what it does because it gives you a chance to land everyone and passively regen MP. Once you hit QED, you need to smash Flandre with everything you've got before she kills you.

Abuse the shit out of Proto Malice Cannon too, it's got amazing MP efficiency.
>>
>>14524092
>secret unit you unlock after having to finish the game 3 times is broken

GEE WILLIKERS
>>
>>14524092

Oh and granted you could say that doing a game on the fourth playthrough makes the game devoid of any challenge there was to start with, but even when I started a brand new game and gamesharked the Vorlent/All final attacks it was just nuts.
>>
>>14524075
On the other hand, it would have been kinda criminal to not have Zhuge Liang be the very best tactician ever. It's pretty much his job description.

>>14524080
Don't forget that Ignore Size is all-important since UX is Super Robot Wars: Tiny Fuckers Edition (so many S/SS, and only Demonbane for L-size main character mechs) and the terrain modifier boost is for both unit and attacks. It's deliciously absurd how high the boosts are when your units have S ranks everywhere. Once he gets his second bonus you're pretty much done switching tacticians outside of secret requirements and maybe fucking around with the "free money/parts at the end of stage" ones.
>>
>>14524098

I'll try it again with this advice. I'm just stunned the difficulty spike shot up to this degree. Before it was "Challenging, but doable" to "What the fuck just happened three units just died in and instant what the christ"
>>
>>14524099
Here's the weird thing, though. Vorlent might be the super secret unit, but it's a grunt. A grunt painted purple. It's so grunty it still has its incredibly boring grunt moveset of gun/sword/big gun. It being so great is nuts, if anything you'd expect it to be the Magikarp to Raftclanz's Gyarados.
>>
>>14524110
Chapter 15 is designed to be like an Extra stage in Touhou games. It's not /actually/ that hard, but the first time it goes in you will be fucking blindsided because you don't know what to do. Chapters 34 and 48 are similar.

Chapter 12, the fight with Remilia, is probably the legitimately hardest chapter in FMW1.
>>
>>14524102
BX is generally smaller, I think. But it's close.

Just having Ignore Size is huge, but if that was his big draw, he'd just be another great tactician. It's his third bonus and the fact that he ALWAYS gets new bonuses first at all three levels that make him broken as fuck.
>>
>>14524110
The fun part is that you fight Flandre again in Chapter 44, and she's basically the same. Only you're in FMW3 now and you are so much stronger that she is kind of a speedbump at best.
>>

>>
>>14524050
Consider that most of that investment wasn't dedicated specifically to Flan (instead benefiting the entire party, or at least a large subset thereof), and in fact much of it would have occurred with or without her. Taking into consideration that fact and the amount of damage I got out of it, I would say that my investment was indeed worth it.

Let's break down the resource investment one point at a time, shall we?
>fully upgrade her
Not the case. I maxed her MP and weapons, and put a few bars into mobility. That's all.
>give her one of the best items in the game
I'll give you that one, but it's not like she had a lot of competition for the sunflower. The only character who actually suffered for the lack of it was Mokou.
>further babysit her by purposefully deploying a shit unit in her back slot
Rumia contributes a number of useful things, actually. For one, she's a rare source of Daunt, and she can also support defend. The main thing she's lacking is damage, which isn't an issue because Flan alone puts out more damage than most entire pairs.
>devote the best tank in the game just for her
Meiling was going to be on the front lines either way, because quite a few squads like having an external source of support defense against bosses (Marisa/Alice come to mind). The only thing that was really devoted specifically to Flan was Meiling's PS.

And she certainly didn't need any babying to get her going at the start of each chapter, unlike, say Maxgod Sanae. Even before Flan joined, I was already in the habit of letting Yuyuko start off each chapter with a few Rally casts, and once Flan hits 110 will, she carries herself just fine.

Remilia is chapter 11.

I agree that it's probably the hardest stage, though. Quite a few bosses, Sakuya's arrival can be a nasty surprise - especially when her HP gets low, her damage output spikes, and China hops over to support defend her - and Remi's spellcards are unpleasant to say the least. Nah, Granteed couldn't solo MD by itself eventhough shit was throwing themselves against a diamond wall
>>
>>14524400
Not as long as they keep using bosses that actually cast Guard
>>
Bosses now spam all their seishins at certain HP intervals, see XN-L, so you're not soloing anything anymore

Because Masaki, Ryuune and La Gias people were the only OG characters before Masou Kishin was released.

Literally the first thing he does when Valsione shows up in OG1 is hit on her though

Cyfis' windjobs are just too good though

Haven't played MX or uhhh, W(?) yet but how are the themes from PoD that will most likely show up in V?

Valsione R kind of is.

I'd agree Flan is a good investment, you really can't ignore the hard fact that she ultimately is the second highest damaging unit in the game and actually the top one if we're talking consistent damage instead of burst.

If we want to get into talk of the absolute best investments in the game though, that would easily go towards the Primsrivers and Three Fairies. Those 6 can pretty much break the whole game by themselves, it's a lot harder to pull it off with the Fairies but they have their merits as well.

Bonus mention for Mystia as well, she is basically the Basara of FMW3 so that is already enough said.

>>14524049
>The only 3.0 that's not hilariously powerful is Ran, and even she's quite good, especially on NG+.
On NG+ Ran isn't quite good she is just hillariously powerful. Thanks to her Ninetail Fox PS, once she hits 130 power and if you combine it with Mystia's songs her stats go nuts. She's the only character you are likely to ever see in the game hit the 300 stat barrier in late game and in most of her stats to boot.

>>14524127
Her final spellcard in FMW3 is actually pretty clever, I liked how they implemented it with the MAP spam and maze like danmaku and needing everyone to talk to her.
>>
>>14524499
I think PoD usually get this and that's it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-gr_QZ9HmQ
>>
>>14524507
I actually forget the R exists now and then.
>>
>>14524499
PoD usually gets
Go! Aestivalis and/or Black Selena III.
>>
>>14524499
Definitely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-gr_QZ9HmQ , very probably https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEAXcZcHf4k .
Then it's kind of a crapshoot. W was the hipster of Nadesico themes that absolutely refused to have any of the main ones for some reason. No You Get to Burning, no Go Aestivalis.
>>
>>14524506
Because life is cruel.
>>
>>14522082
> I am The Sword that Cleaves Evil
Doesn't Sanger actually say that, though?
>>
>>14524513
According to the .dat files, originally you had a time limit to get Remi to Flan.

I'm glad they dropped that.
>>
>>14524490
Did Obari actually draw that or is it just fanmade with the Obari pose?
>>
>>14524527
Well, I doubt we'll see You Get To Burning in a game that only has the movie.
>>
>>14524527
>>14524554
PoD was a mistake
tfw still haven't seen PoD even though I loved the show
>>
>>14524553
It's from Obari's twitter.
>>
>>14524561
It has a few good scenes, but as sequels go it's terrible. Most of the old cast is out of focus, the movie spends a lot of time focusing on a new idiot no one cares about and Saboruta (who is nothing like he is in the TV show in anyway because fuck you), and it's significantly worse at balancing comedy and tragedy.

Also there's basically fucking no robot action worth a shit and 90% of the combat is either offscreen or "one guy rams other guy." Way to waste the movie budget.
>>
Chika is not actually a familiar

She's a robot controlled by Euzeth to spy on earth
>>
>>14524572
Maybe it's a parody of edgy sequels like End of Evangelion

The biggest turn off for me was that it takes events from some VN into account. I've already read the summary of that, but I already lost interest in seeing the movie. It's still on my hdd for a year now.

WHEN WILL HE GET NERFED??!
>>
>>14524590
Soulgain already dropped its large HP Regen to medium
>>
>>14524506
If I remember right, he made one as part of a plan to hijack one of the MKs, but dropped the plan because Chika was too annoying.
>>
The familiars are supposed to be based off some aspect of their master's personality or something right?

Does Chika represent the annoying asshole aspect of Shu then?

Tytti has the best familiar desu

>>14524626
Perfectly believable, Jupiter has posted on /m/ before.
Personally I have nothing to say on the matter of Haken's father though.
>>
>>14524629
>procreating with Kai produces Hiyama
>>
>>14524620
You can put him in Vysaga if you don't like the Gespy.
Speaking of that, I'm kinda confused as to where it came from. I thought he tweaked one into a clone of the Phantom himself, but Marion was already talking about her new "Gespenst Type-H" way before the stage where he makes the jump to OG.
>>
>>14524527
W had the better Nadesico themes. Gekiganger 3 and Schiaparelli Project are great and need to show up more often.
>>
>>14524637
Marion recovered the schematic of Gespenst Haken in Euzeth's ship.
Egret Feff (machinery children creator) worked with Shadow Mirror in OG2 and he gave Euzeth some of those knowledge to Euzeth.
>>
>>14525708
*he gave Euzeth some of those knowledge.

Fuck.
