What I like about Tomino's works is it consists of dialogue and buildup in a world where it makes sense. It's so detached from the real world but at the same time you feel familiar cause what they talk about feels like it's what's supposed to happen in that world.

These are shows that provide an otherworldly anime experience without too much of the anime cliches plaguing most mech shows as of late. It's a wierd feel so I understand where it's coming from when most of /m/ says they're shit.

King Gainer is a lot more accessible since the plot is ultimately a lot simpler.

Everybody wants to fuck off to Yapan because living in Siberia sucks, the Siberian Railway and St. Raegan want them to stay in the Domepolises and pay their taxes and use their railroads.

The confusion mostly comes from the fact that you're following it from Gainer's perspective, who wasn't in on the plan and just got caught up in the middle of it by accident.

I really don't see how anybody could be confused about the main plot after the first three episodes.

No and no. Even your vastly simplified version of the plot seems needlessly obtuse.

First episode of King Gainer opens with Gainer achieving the highest rank in an online tournment he goes to school the next day where this catches the attention of the Siberian Railway for some reason and he's thrown into jail where he meets Gain they managed to escape and find an overman in which Gainer dubs King Gainer after his online name and escape but little do they know the Militia are already awaiting their arrival who turns out to actually be Gainer's classmates and with no where to hide he has no choice but to join them on their journey to Yapan. This all happens in the course of one episode in comparison to G-Reco which is just a big exposition dump in the guise of a class lesson.
