Unit 8 was an experimental police force whose controversy was that they were allowed to use military-grade willwear to fight criminals misusing willwear themselves for nefarious purpose. Honestly CG animation is getting pretty good these days. I just think a lot of stupid people mix up art and animation, and in that case complaints are still kind of valid - CG models are generally improving but their "art" I guess isn't up-to-par or as detailed as most casual watchers would expect.

It's why you see a lot of people like the K:Project anime by GoHands and praise it's animation. The animation is medicore but the art is "detailed" and "well-drawn" which draws them in.
