Nah. Voltron is, for better or for worse, a bit of a milestone in murrica's anime landscape. Golion is a generic super robot show among literal hundreds.

GoLion had nowhere near the effect on Japan Voltron had on the West. You'll note that after GoLion ended, that was it, while Voltron had multiple reboot/sequel shows, comics, etc.
