I wasn't really complaining about it, though. Actually, I think it was pretty well done. We've got a pretty decent setup for a sequel, and it doesn't limit them into making it a battle between the two Earths.

In fact, there's a very good chance that the people of Mana-Earth will end up worshiping Ange and Dragon-Earth, deifying it all in the same way that Ange's sister had demonized her before the events of Embryo's space time shenanigans.

There are so many ways it could go, that I don't think it's very valid to complain about it. For a show like Cross Ange, it's the perfect ending. It cleans up the current situation, while leaving things open enough for anyone to continue it in the future.

We spent an entire series focusing on the Dragons. Who they are, what they are, how they originated, and they even did a decent job of explaining gender roles within a few lines.

They could've developed them beyond that, but did they need to? What we know is sufficient, anything else is superfluous. I agree with you on the vision thing, but it just didn't phase me. The whole fated to meet across space and time thing is honestly pretty cringe at this point for me, so I'm glad they just used it to drop some references and moved on.

They were the exceptions, beyond Momoka we didn't really meet any Mana-users who seemed to view the Norma as people. You have to remember the entire show was her being dragged through the muck herself, constantly being challenged and forced into a life she wasn't really prepared for. It's a fairly standard plot for mecha anime, as it's basically a repeition of Zambot's story, but as with most things they had to step it up and make it a lot more shocking and violent.

There are holes here and there, that much we can agree on, but it's still consistent within the show's tone and nature. Hell, the fact Ange was willing to take a moment to get Sylvia up and going is more than most people would've have done had they been put through the same torture cycle.

Sylv becomes a better person for it, Ange gets some peace and quiet, and if they ever cared to do it they'll whip out a sequel and show us what happens after. Probably not, but I'm more optimistic than most people assume.

About the only character who's actions made a lick of sense was Salia who everyone hates for some reason just because she didn't suck up to Ange. I know its incredibly silly to expect anything less for a show of this caliber but there's just so much bullshit you can take in one sitting

There was interesting points that could have been used better in the story, for example, Ange and Hilda becoming best buddies over their anger at the world which was forgotten right after it happened because the next episode or so had Tusk appearing.

I believe it's because the franchise was in development hell for a long time and all passion was lost by the time they got greenlighted. Plus the retards scrapped the second half of the story and rewrote it on the fly. I agree that it failed in a lot of aspects and there was room for improvement. But I also doubt many people, especially /m/ sees the show in its entirety with all the small references and injokes. I'm almost sure you guys don't like it because the mechs are not bulky rectangle gundams, but sleek and feminine (and very impractical) ones. To each his own, but CA wasn't a mecha show on the level of other Sunrise mecha shows.
I wish they would make a reboot with corrected story or a fully 3D pc game instead of VN dialogs.
