Finished my first run. Touya was my top ace with like 208 kills. I wasn't even trying particularly hard to focus on him and actually tried to spread kills out among a lot of people. Other mechs have better utility, but you literally just have to park Dracodeus in range of enemies and watch as they smash against it in a desperate attempt to even scratch it.

Still wish Kekwell had a proper finisher. Would have stuffed him in that just to make things a bit more interesting.

Unless you do like Z2 did and have them warped in from an alternate universe only a little while before the game starts so they can have their pre show plot work out without other series interferance.

Part of me has to question why some units are regarded as a big deal in SRW series. For example, if there is a game with Gundam SEED in it along with Gundam Wing (Any version), than how are the G units from SEED any big deal? I think there are plenty of valid ways to do it, including but not limited to what they did That's just one option of many.

Yeah, you might need to make the supers or reals from another series look weak, divide them into factions or excuse their absence for the invasion, but it can happen.

It's really not they're just really fucking lazy hence why we got two fucking Japans. I wouldn't mind them doing what OE did and just have the Geass cast in a different world and just play it straight but with a different cast o characters to remove Britannia altogether if it triggers you so much. Or do what we thought Z2 was going to do and just combine the big bads into Britannia instead of splitting them up. Needless to say SRW never gave much of a shit in regards to how "accurate" the plot details are given the amount of liberties taken with all their shows.

Playing through L, just got my first batch of SEED Destiny guys. Are any of the Zaku/Gouf units worth using, or should I just wait to spend upgrades on the Gundams? Are any of the main units pilot-locked, or will I able to swap Destiny/StrikeFreedom around freely?

Also wow L's squad system is pretty good overall, kinda annoyed that you can't use chain attacks while in a pair and there's no W-attacks for hitting two people at once from range but otherwise it's solid.

I assume it's mainly so the enemy doesn't have their hands on your tech. Phase Shift mitigates damage from ballistics, which a lot of suits used during the early stages of SEED and Wing, so the G Units would be big game changers for the Federation force in that SRW. Also, the Wing units are regarded as terrorists, and Feddies probably wanted things they could have on hand instead of someone that could turn their back on them at a moment's notice.

Destiny, Strike Freedom, and Infinite Justice are pilot locked, if you keep Legend (and why wouldn't you) it is as well. I THINK the DOM is pilot locked too but don't quote me on that.

The only Destiny unit really worth upgrading in the early game is the Impulse.

Don't worry, using them while on your own is never recommended either. Hitting any squad past a first one comes at such a downshift in power that it's just not worth it.

This is to prevent K's situation where using Chains was just in general better because you could murder tons of people with one attack because the penalty for doing so was basically nonexistent, especially since squad targeting was fucking done wrong (basically K's squad system is a way to cart around a support attacker and that is it.)

That's what Chain Attacks are for basically. When you're solo, you can hit every part of an enemy squad as if it's an ALL.

UX changed that so that every attack basically became C, but you couldn't target multiple squads with them. A good system.

They're better, but Strike Freedom and Destiny are the clear winners due to packing EN Regen in a game that can leave you hurting for EN noticeably more often than usual. Kira also has one of the better incarnations of his MAP, it's a 1-5 friendly cone like Calvina's Homing Laser in OGMD.

Guys like Godannar, Jeeg and Gaiking probably need the upgrades sooner and you'll get better performance out of them once they have them.

Yeah I meant to say ALL attacks as opposed to W-attacks, but my complaint was more that if I bring a strong attacker and a weak support unit in, I can't have the strong attack pick up both kills because I can neither Chain attack or use an ALL attack since those don't exist. It's pretty minor since support units are actually still decent for damage (I'm only on stage 17), but trying to get kills up on Shinji or Kouichi is hell because Chains are meh and they can't otherwise pick up multiple kills.

I really need to try K at some point and see just how horribly broken it is. Plus it'd be a chance to play with Godannar some more because what the shit L starts in S2 plot for Godannar.

Note that SF and Akatsuki change 'packs' between earth and space stages and so do their terrain partner bonuses, which are nice. Legend doesn't do the same thing and its DRAGOONs are useless on earth, so partner him with someone who gives Air or Ground so they can at least hit shit on one of those terrains.

Most support units are also either fully capable of spamming their strongest moves, or are fairly powerful even without that (in the case of Boss).

Since there's no time-based SR points and there's very few notable events in L that are time based (There are a few time limit stages, and the Ramiel stage has a clock on how long you get to beat him - BE SURE TO FUCKING DO THAT HE HAS A REALLY GOOD PART, if you get a second kill the stage ends but his second part isn't as important so wiping the whole stage out + 1 Ramiel kill is a fair goal to shoot for on a first run) you can just generally let single enemies live to the enemy phase and then die in counterattacks.

The only thing you lose anti-air is the knife, which is a 1 range move so on the enemy phase you'll not be using it as much. (using the gatling with B Save is more common, maybe that rifle a few times to save ammo since Shinji has a little bit of an ammo problem at base)

The only real annoyance is that you can't check what they do in their other mode, but in all cases the terrain bonus automatically shifts between Air/Space.
