This is a BFT-tier "who gives a fuck" plot, where giga nigger shows up out of nowhere because he gets off on having his cold metal balls crushed by a little girl (in the form of a giant robot).

I couldn't find one reason to care about any of these characters, except for the dindu.

I honestly would've enjoyed it more if he curbstomped the loli, went bar hopping and bought everyone a round of drinks.

At least that would've been the kind of underdog's victory we could all celebrate.

But seriously, anime Strike Witches really only embraces war drama aspects in full during season finales and the film, at which point it actually gets surprisingly good about it, if admittedly hamfisted and also HURP DURP MIYAFUJESUS SAVES THE DAY.

Just watches the first episode. I'm getting some strong Kannazuki no Miko vibes from it, especially how the mech fights are handled. It's not a direct similarity, but it has the same feel to it. Also

And it even shows signs of going Super Saiyan, having super LN-main character punching powers, and I have a strong feeling that some form of misanthropy will come in to play at some point. Children beating grown men, enigmatic shadow agencies that will likely to absolutely nothing, and the magic robot having that distinct edge...and I doubt the cute-girl have fulfilled their potential to do cute things at all.

The only thing it needs to do now is to reveal the goth loli is actually a 700 year old vampire, and the "Otaku-only" seal will be set in stone (more so than it is already).

Yeah I was reminded of KnM too and i actually went and checked the staff for both shows

...And they do share a non-zero amount of staff! But the only major name that stuck out to me was the sound director on both, Yoshikazu Iwanami. Something about the robots reminds me of it too - specifically some details of the mech the rando villain used.
