I used to watch the Force Five dub. At the time it was my least favorite part of the block. I've begun to suspect that I might enjoy it more now.

He said the sponsor forced the robot into the show. In his manga version, the robot only appear at the very last page. That's it, you got one page of Danguard Ace in the Danguard Ace manga. Leiji was not very fond of giant robots.

That dub is marginally competent, which is kind of sad. I watched the Gaiking one first was expecting more of the weak-ass, "Whaaaaa!" every time the protagonists were surprised and/or damaged. The dub's bad enough to be bad, but not bad enough to be hilarious like the Gaiking one.
