The difference between the Battle class and the Elysion is that the Elysion is taller in robot mode than it is long, while the Battle class is shorter in robot mode than in ship mode.

Official specs put the Battle 7 at 1510 meters and the Battle Frontier at 1681 meters in ship mode, and based on how much more compact the Elysion is in ship mode, it can't be much more than 700 meters, probably less, if it's 820-ish meters tall like that magazine interview said.

Current (2065) mainstay of the frigate fleet.

Since the first ship was commissioned in 2029, the ship has become a best-seller and by 2045, a total of 9,000 hulls including variants had been built. It was designed as a successor to the Space Destroyer (t/n: Oberth-class) of the previous interstellar war. Due to its excellent basic design, the ship still doesn't need much in the way of upgrades.

The major feature of its structure is its lightness - this is common to all vessels below medium-size built after 2030, the main goal being to reduce the cost. Thorough investigation determined that this shape would yield the maximum effectiveness at the lowest cost.

The concept of the design is to not get hit by the enemy, but always be the one attacking. The Zentraedi Army, and presumably the larger part of the Supervision Army, has poor sensor capabilities, such as radar. In addition, this ship incorporates stealth (radar signature reduction) in its design, and in a Zentraedi radar scope the ship will generate at most the signature of a Battle Pod. By taking advantage of the mobility offered by its low mass and maneuvering randomly, the chance of being hit is lowered to a minimum.

On the other hand, even the basic enemy ships are very large, and as such the ship needs substantial firepower. As a result, most of the armament is fixed to allow the guns to be as large as possible. The ship has close air defense missiles to combat the threat of enemy battle pods, which are fully automated. This was originally considered sufficient defense during fleet actions where ships can support each other.

It should be noted that, although the commanding officer for these ships was originally a captain (t/n: O-3, equivalent to naval Lieutenant), the increased number of ships in the fleet has meant that currently the commanding officer is usually a lieutenant (t/n: O-2). Due to the increased automation of these ships this does not pose problem.

Word on the street is that the lack of locking together in fighter mode has been fixed, and that the white stickers are actually white this time. Long term durability is still probably shit if you transform it too much, and it actually has more stickers than the VF-25s, but with the new-and-improved methods of applying them (dip them in water so you can slide them around a little, then rub them with a q-tip once they're in place), they look pretty good.

Mine is still in transport limbo, since I didn't have anything else to pad my order with and didn't want to pay almost as much for shipping as I would for the kit, so I won't be seeing it for another couple of weeks most likely.

Next release on the other hand will be shipped express, since a friend of mine also wants one and we'll split the shipping.

Those are just the regular Super parts for space use. We saw plenty of them in episodes 6 and 14, where the VFs are all wearing them full time. It's just that like (nearly) all previous Super parts, they're not designed for atmospheric use and are discarded before re-entry or not equipped at all for an atmospheric take-off, which is how we see the VFs most often in this show.

But I imagine we'll see a lot more of them in episodes to come, now that we're stuck in space for a bit.

Speaking of super parts, here's a picture of the parts for the 1/72 kit on their own.

The blue scares me, the separately sold VF-25 super parts had all the colored parts done in white and you were supposed to sticker them over to get the right color. Those only had four colored bits though, these have how many? And how big? Though at least these seem to be a single color so you can actually paint them if you like without losing the pin-striping and numbers on the missile hatches.

Speaking of which, nice to see confirmation that it really does have shoulder missile launchers, almost missed it the first time I looked at the pic.

Less nice that the kit definitely lacks the sound boost system though. Maybe that'll be sold separately.

If you're talking about thin plastic sticker with adhesive back, that method is only 'new' for people here especially gunpla general after someone mentioned it. That tips actually has been around in Bandai Gunpla catalog or modelling magazines for like a decade, and since the material never changed, people surely used found out the method from long ago to help in fixing the sticker.

If you're talking about water transfer decal, it's always needed to be dipped in water to begin with.

The first four and a half volumes are a retelling of the first half of the series, up to the point where Hikaru, Misa and company were captured in the original series (this hasn't happened yet in the manga). Then the author went on hiatus... and since the manga was the only selling point of the magazine it was being printed in, it went under.

Then the author came back to do more chapters, in the successor magazine... only he went in full gaiden mode and skipped back to just post-Zero, showing Global's arrival at South Ataria and the last gasp of the Anti-Unification Alliance. And then *that* magazine went under.

Then there was another break, and then finally they started posting it as an online series, where they basically went one chapter a month starting with the prequel, with one or two new chapters for that... and then the series went on hiatus again. And now it's *finally* back.

Clearcoat didn't help much with the durability of the VF-25 decals. Also, the big colored stickers won't have any excess decal film or anything that needs to be wrapped around the edge of whatever part you're placing them on, they're cut *exactly* the right size whereas the decals are always just a little too large and so stiff they won't wrap over the edge without substantial chemical help.

Being a Misa isn't good in a show where the one who occupies the "Minmay role" is indeed linked to the pilot to the point he's useless shit without her and they agree in everything. The thing about the original Macross triangle wasn't that Hikaru liked Misa more, but he couldn't be with Minmay because they drifted apart and were each other's childish retreat, it's the complete opposite with Freyja and Hayate: they work together, they share the same vision and push each other to mature in their jobs and dreams.

Freyja and Hayate are the ultimate pilot/singer duo, something that began with Sara and Shinn and continued with Alto and Sheryl, more more obviously explored. The ED was all about their teamwork and how Hayate has to set himself into a journey to reach Freyja's level.

So, having watched this episode, I'm not on suicide watch at all. Hayate still feels like a totally asexual pilot, neither in love with Freyja nor titillated by Mirage. He just wants to find a place where he belongs, like how Mirage is searching for something that will change her. Freyja's journey, on the other hand, already seems complete. Her dreams have been accomplished, and while she is certainly developing some feelings for Hayate it doesn't feel like she'll die if she doesn't win. Her life has a path that she can walk, whereas Hayate and Mirage both lack in maturity and development. How Delta is going to give them their character development, I don't know. But it's something I hope they handle well; we don't need a second SKY ending where things just work out because.

Freyja's journey as a singer was complete in episode 8, but on episode 9 and onwards she began to fall for Hayate and this is deepening every single episode.

Mirage is kind of a side character who witness their journey and will learn from them, but she's just added only exclusively to rile up Freyja. She has no real intimacy with Hayate or impact on him that isn't linked "Freyja is reacting to that." Hayate right now even quoted Freyja in episode 1 about the place he wants to be.

He wants to be in Ragna, a place he went and stayed because of Freyja entered in his life and challenged him.

Sure. The antagonists are due their first fall soon, especially since with the one NUNs officer reporting to people they probably won't be the antagonists for long. I give it till episode 22 at most before they're firmly on Chaos' side. Chaos will probably plan a counter offensive next episode and execute it, with things going badly for Windermere the following episode (so 16). Them awakening a Bird Man and Mikumo playing in to it as a Protoculture creation seems likely, what with her seeing a Protoculture creation (if not the Sigur itself) via dream this episode.
