Hardly, it's half backlash half memeing about a show that was/is held in general good regard. Personally I think it's fine but not great. Pacing could use some work, we didn't need Four to die twice and I generally agree with people who say the characters act intensely retarded, but as a sequel to 0079 it did a good job turning the tables and making the former protagonists' side evil. It also has one of the best rosters of MS designs overall.

Well, as you said - she's barely a character in Z, so the viewer is free to project whatever traits he wishes upon her, elevating her into a larger than life figure, a symbol even.
Then ZZ actually fleshes her out, beyond her "Manipulative Queen Bitch Mask" and she's not what one might have wanted or expected.
She's not even that good at - the only reason she was so successful in Z, is because she butted in on a protracted conflict and since neither side wished to fight on two fronts - they eagerly sucked her (hopefully) metaphorical cock.
When the chips were down, Her Neo Zeon fell apart all around her at a slightest internal poke. A good poker face and engineered hero worship are all she has going for her

I don't think she has it in her to be a dom - it's just a mask for her to hide behind, one that slips from time to time anyway. Her entire character arc is essentially her lashing out at the universe because she's lonely, feels abandoned and is horribly butthurt about it.
