A 14-yr old 2nd year Jr High student.
She is currently pursuing activities as a member of an idol group.
She has great reflexes and a lively perosnality. She acts as a strong character but is actually kind and gentle. Another side of her is someone who is easily moved to tears and falls to loneliness. Her Buddy Appmon is "Dokamon".
Umeka Shouji isn't a newcomer to Digimon, but this is certainly her first primary role in it. She played a side character in Cyber Sleuth and numerous bit parts throughout Hunters. Her most notable anime role thus far is probably Yuko Kumagai in World Trigger.

Izumi is even more useless than that. In the episode where Fairymon debuted, SHE FUCKING LOST and had to get the MC to cover for her. There is exactly one opponent she beat at any point (Ranamon), and it's arguable that she only beat Ranamon in a straight fight that didn't get ended early or interrupted a single time.

Every time. That doesn't make evolutionary levels "meaningless" it just means that they aren't limits of power. A child level digimon is still a child level digimon, no matter how strong it is, a la Lucemon or the artificial Digimon Arkadimon and Gizmon.
Devimon was clearly stronger than the chosen ones because they were new to the game, he was the big bad, and he was boosting his power with the dark gears, Angemon had an elemental bonus, an attribute bonus, and plot convenience. As the show went on, the rookie levels grew stronger, as well, but Tailmon was actually trained the whole time, which was why she could keep her adult level form. As a species, Gatomon could still degenerate back into plotmon, a child level. They're stages of life, not solely power.

I'm probably going to get flack for this, but I'll go as far to say that I fucking loved the American Dub, and how it introduced me to this series.
Yeah, the songs were corny, certainly not being on the level of Koji's songs, but they were always hype and awesome when played, and the "forced jokes" that people complain about generally made it a fun watch, growing up and even revisiting. I've even grown to enjoy the Digirap in a sort of way, it's just so cheesy that it turns into being silly fun to think about.
Of course there's nostalgia, but I never had it where the American dub "overlapped" the original, or somehow ruined it when I could always enjoy both. The movie being a splicing of three sounds bad, but I still feel like it worked in a way that makes it its own neat thing to look at on its own.

My only grievance with shit like >>14442309 and what they did with the Fusion dub is that they're trying TOO HARD to emulate what I feel barely made the first dub work as its own thing to enjoy apart from the original.

Fairly certain Butter-Fly has had a top spot in Karaoke for a very long time now. People sing it whether they grew up with it or not.

Also Super only partially banks on nostalgia, it's mostly kids who are watching it in Japan, though. Mostly thanks to Dragon Ball Heroes and Kai reruns that got kids into Dragon Ball Z.

Ofanimon's pretty much a straight upgrade because Angewomon comes at a reasonable time for a Perfect instead of at the ass end of the game right before everyone gets Ultimates. Most of the Ultimates are either straight upgrades or are better enough at killing things to want to use them for what little time you have them. But you get Holyangemon right before everyone upgrades anyway so it's already close to par with the Ultimates anyway, and it has... Holy Healing or something like that? That's one of the best (if not the best) supporting attacks in the game. And Heaven's Gate is RIDICULOUS, it will pretty much always Shock and Break the enemy.

Playing it. I'd post pics of comparison between Holy and Seraphi but I lost that file in a file wipe ages ago, and only started playing again sporadically after it got translated.

I think it is fully translated as of the 5.0 patch (or, well, everything but menus anyway) though.

There's plenty of issues with the game, really. Evolutions tend to fall into the category of either being either really good or not very good at all after the Adult level, even when they weren't some Digimon got completely fucking shafted in terms of special attacks (Togemon doesn't have a good move to hit a single enemy with, Alturkabuterimon's moves are HORRIFICALLY EXPENSIVE for when you get it, things like that), the fact that they follow the plot almost too well means that there's a lot of annoyances involving character availability and similar things, for some godawful reason it defaults to putting all partner Digimon on "the AI controls them for you" which is really bad because the AI is shit (that one's easily fixed at least), and it has the expected problem that like every Digimon game except the Card Battle ones run into in that you have to spend fucking ages grinding on things.

Like, seriously, look at this shit. Here I have Metalgreymon, an absurdly powerful beater with reasonable cost attacks who's finisher costs 13 and who's only real weakness is that it's slow and doesn't have any multi-target moves. Also its SP is piss but you can fix that with Digipieces easily and they don't matter as much when your basic attack deals tons of damage - right now mine has a +50 SP part.

Next to it is Alturkabuterimon, who I got after Metalgreymon. Tentomon's a defensive mon so it can tank hits better, but with its significantly lower HP it amounts to the same thing. It's much weaker, and its basic attack is also much weaker. It starts with a significant boost in SP over Metalgreymon... but its best move costs fucking 23, so you end up having less uses of it! I don't think it's that much stronger either. Fortunately Altur has an attack that hits all enemies, otherwise it'd be totally outclassed.

And then next to those is Patamon who can't evolve and is pretty fucking terrible in basically every way. And because the game held it off for so long, it's also ten levels under the entire rest of my team and I have to grind it back on wilds designed to face a team of Adults in the high 20s and low 30s.

This is not fucking good game design.

Well, that's not 100% true. There's one or two points where a random AI controlled ally steals one of your spots, ruins your EXP gain, and contributes very little - Leomon going up Infinity Mountain when you're on the path to Devimon for instance - but that's it.

The big draw is that you can get the Ultimate forms for everyone... which you get after Piemon and right before the last fight with Apocalymon. Woo. And then you don't get them in the secret new arc that comes after Our War Game ends anyway.

And they're missable. Did I mention that? If you don't have a guide and play through the game, it's actually possible to miss all the Ultimate forms for everyone. Basically over the course of the game, you get Support Ranks for each character that lets your Digimon use supporting attacks after the other ones in the party attack - this is extraordinarily useful because it's always their strongest technique, it bypasses Skill Lock, and it's completely fucking free. Some of these are automatic story things, but most of them come from random dialogue choices! And if you fuck up, you don't get them. And each character needs thirty five of the damn things by the end so if you fuck up too much you'll be missing them.


But hey, there's NG+, you can just get it in NG+! Nevermind that it's the most barebones NG+ ever, I don't think it carries anything of note besides level over and the fact that you'll be in the 70s or above in the earlygame basically means you're just going to fucking steamroll the game anyway so what's even the point.

All of those Digimon on that page who weren't the partners to the Adventure 01 cast are unobtainable. Elecmon, for instance, is a boss fight you have to do solo as Patamon (which is ANNOYING AS SHIT), and will then show up a few times to fight you again because the game is lazy and reuses models all the damn time (Numemon becomes outdated as a mook soon after it appears, but it will still return as Numemon (Star) and Numemon (Two Stars) later just so they don't have to make more enemies to fight!).

Seraphimon isn't that bad, its just that he goes from an utility mon to a raw power mon. Seraphimon has the strongest area attack in the game and can utterly destroy most endgame random encounters with it and its single hit attack isn't bad at all.

Besides, I prefer Lilymon as my utility digimon of choice, her flower wreath or whatever was called her flower collar move is a lot faster than heaven's gate and it too shocks and breaks very often. It is so fast that with the two turns digipiece, you can effectively semi-stunlock bosses with lilymon alone and if you overkill the game with the three turns digipiece obtained in the last optional dungeon, the bosses will never get any turn ever again, not like it would really matter because by the time you get it, odds are that your mons are overleveled and can wreck the shit of anything even without omegamon
