Having his only friend melt into nothingness right beside him was bad enough, but to let him think he finally won only to realize he'd stopped before the finish line was just unnecessarily cruel.

00's first season had such a depressing ending,I remember when I thought Litchty saved Christina for a second there then both died anyway.
That along with Lockon's death and the entire team getting rekt was pretty sad,I wish season 2 had taken this original tone and gone with it, not that I'm entirely against what we ended up with,but it would have been interesting to see where the series would've gone had this been it's tone afterward.

Well s2 was more about CB rising from the ashes and getting their revenge (in more or less the exact same way) on Ribbons and his crew. Plus I thought it was an emotionally compelling arc for Setsuna's ideals to be torn down and then rebuilt as the series went on.

Lalahs death almost makes me cry every time. It's just one of those things that shouldn't have happened.
