Feds win, Zabi are dead, Io escapes naked and frees his improsoned friends, Guntank team is badass, Feds uncover three Zeongs being manufactured for the begining of mass production, and the remaining Zeon government surrenders as normal.

The major divergent point happens afterwards with half the zeon army refusing to accept the surrender, a cult acquiring the scientist and scrap of the zaku P type and their country begins seceding from the EF, Zeon holdout factions still hold scattered territory around Earth, and everyone wants the p type data.

Because it was kinda jarring how he goes from stealing the Rick Dom to just landing in the carrier like he was flying nothing more out of the normal than a GM.

In the manga, they notice that it's not an enemy because it's broadcasting a sound signal as it comes within comm range of the Feddy fleet.

If it was a lone unit conducting a hit and run or suicide attack, it would be unlikely that it would reveal itself by broadcasting a signal. In either case, the next manga page does show that the fleet begins defensive motions by readying the guns on the escorting ships and sending out Balls to intercept, but once they analyze the signal they realize it's Io.
