The set is probably multiple games in one, not sure. SC is just the sequel game to the first, hence the "second chapter" part. There's also a third that has yet to be released in English, not to mention other Legend of Heroes games besides Sora no Kiseki (Trails in the Sky).

Bought Darius Burst CS because I could not wait for the price to go any lower and had lots of fun re-acquainting myself with the system on the easy (ADH) route. Violent Ruler is the cutest motherfuckin' end boss. <3

Also bought Raiden IV, but for some bullshit reason it won't even start. Likely going to get a refund on this if the solution is too much to be bothered with.

One interesting thing is the amount of bullet hell games that have been put on steam recently. Crimzon Clover is absurdly cheap, and some goodies like Ikaruga, Raiden IV, Sora, Vulkaiser, and Astebreed are all on pretty good sales.

Outside of those, there's quite a few /m/ games of other genres you should look into. FTL, Gigantic Army, Lost Planet 2, and Strike Suit Zero are all pretty cool games that are decently cheap right now.

One of Cave's few sidescrollers, Deathsmiles, but it's 30% off. Also please note that it's a fantasy game and not /m/ but hey, you asked.

Astro Port must have at least three sidescrolling shooters. These are the ones that are easiest on your budget:
Armed Seven, you are a robot and shoot dudes, what are you waiting for
Satazius, you are a spaceship and it draws a little inspiration from the classics like Gradius and Darius and so forth
Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser, you are a superrobot with rocket punch, drill etc powerups. It's not the most amazing game but I find it quite entertaining

Steredenn looks like a neat enough space shooter, but it's only 35% off

Probably lots more for pretty cheap, keep looking through the shoot 'em up tag. I guess it's a shame it's not divided into hori/vert/tube/dual-stick etc

Is TitS really a great game ? I do not want to miss a great game if i could but I played the FC once in PSP and I must say there is something about this game is really out of synch with me. The first hour playing, the game dumped as much information about its confusing system as possible after that worked out, i spent another 5 hours of really sleep inducing story. I do not particularly hate slow story telling but it feel so slow for a JRPG.

TRANSFORMERS: Devastation is definitely worth it at 75% off. Especially if you're a fan of G1 stuff. It's not a particularly deep game but if you want to beat up some robots with other robots to a great soundtrack that gets your blood pumping then you should enjoy it. Just some good ol' fashioned fun.

You can get a mech in 3rd, a character gets an S-Craft exclusive one in Ao, and in Cold Steel II there's mech battles.

Fallout 1 and 2 are both on sale for like 5 bucks each. If you haven't played them yet, you should.

It's 100% mecha. That's all it is. I got it for like 7 or 8 bucks and it's just pure machine porn and planet smashing.

I fiended Total Annihilation a lot. I still think it's one of the best RTS ever made. I picked up Planetary Annihilation a while back and it was just bad. Controls felt awkward somehow and I just couldn't give a single shit about it, which was massively disappointing. Is Titans better?

Which Lost Planet game do I want?

1 looks to have the coolest robits but probably has dead multiplayer by now, right? If the servers are even up.

2 looks pretty cool aesthetically but I'm just hoping, again, multiplayer isn't dead.

3 is....newer, from what I can tell. Steam reviews seem to pan it a bit.

LP3 is a singleplayer game where you travel in a mining mech exploring the frozen planet. People probably were disappointed since it was a big departure from the first 2 games. Especially the multiplayer oriented 2nd one.

Many people gave it negative reviews. But I won't forget wrestling with a giant snow crab to finally put a drill straight through it's carapace in a fountain of blood while "2500 Tons of Awesome" plays in the mechs stereo.

You know what confuses me is the game is actually not a bad game. Like for a JRPG of it's era, it's pretty good, it reminds me a lot of Grandia which I loved, but.. I guess you can say the expectations ruined me.

Knowing so many things can affect future saves and games, from NPCs, to buying Newspapers, completing quests.. I just want to kind of soak it in, but I am also one of those people who hate missing out on content.

I love it, but I can't play it.
