It really is just that BF had better writing. It knew how to handle it's cast of characters so they could stay relevant and develop a little. They weren't amazing characters but they all serve a purpose very well while being entertaining which is all they needed to be. It new what to focus on at what time even if it meant that some early episodes barely had any gunpla battle, it also new when to mix things up so we could get different types of fights. It also did references very well, a lot of the time if you didn't get a line or notice a suit it didn't detract and when it was more overt the show was usually making the point that this character is a fanboy so the point isn't lost. You don't need to know what characters Mao and his master talk about to get they are being nerds over waifus. Reiji and Sei also grow closer as we see them both understand each other more and actually need to work together at times to over come problems, they actually seem to really care for each other by the end.

Try just failed at this. The characters just come and go meaning we get a whole episode of build up for a quick resolution and then they cheer at the side lines. This lead to the main cast being underdeveloped and never really forming a cohessive team, this was most obvious when Yuuma standarded jerking off Sekai like everyone else despite them never growing close. This is made worse by it getting to constant fights very quickly which is doubled by Sekai being way too much of a linchpin in victories doing his chicken how are yous. They also lack a good motivation, you could say that about Reiji but he actually grows close to a number of characters and actually learns to respect it when he builds his own and it gets trashed. The references also really dry up, in fact I'm not even sure if Fumina likes gundam cause we never here about her favoruite series or whatever.

It already did as the Super Fumina, which is the cutest GM variant ever.

The Transient is not based off of any 00 mech in particular. The guy who did the 00 designs in the first place just made a new "00 main lead" design, and guess what the end result looks similar to the Exia, 00, and 00Q. Because that was the point.

That was also the point in-story, where the Transient is just an OC suit designed to look like something out of 00. Gunpla Academy only had one "custom", and the Portent is about as much of a custom of the Sakibure as the Lightning is of the ReGZ. You can sorta see the resemblance, but it's so radically different it's practically its own thing.

Try has a really easy way of telling you whether a character is good or not. Is their kit a clear custom of something else? If yes, they are cool. If no, they are try hards.

For example, early Fumina was much more interesting than she was later in the show. Early Fumina also had the GM Cardigan instead of the Winning. QED.

Build Burning was a great design. It's not Sei's fault that Sekai, Yuuma, and Fumina just sucked too much to create the accessories that the thing's barebones design was obviously supposed to have.

Try Burning is just fucking lazy. Really, all of the Try Fighter's upgrades were just so lazy. They just split up the SBS upgrade among all three suits and called it a day.

The thing is a plavsky god that can materialize solid objects (Shields/barriers, swords, fire, clones of itself) out of plavsky particles whenever it wants through its discharge system. What possible use would tacking on a backpack of giving it a rifle have when its base abilities can already replicate those functions.

Really they're at fault for not experimenting and practicing with exploiting that facet of burning.

Since no one else is going to break the wave and embrace my shit taste. I Like the green Quanta, Gyan, & Full armor/ enhanced ZZ looking thing. Though I'm sick of lightening, two upgrades and he still couldn't get a new suit. Bearguy exists, thats really all I can say about it.

I like the Quanta Kai, but I could care less about the Gyancelot. The ZZ II is kind of weird, in that it's supposed to be a mashup of the ZZ and Zeta II, but I count something like ten possible pieces it retains from the Zeta II, and none at all I can identify as belonging on the ZZ... then again, I don't have a ZZ so my parts recognition skills for it are suspect.
