>How is it no one's been seriously injured or killed in these competitions?
even with the carbon coating, some of its still pretty insane. like miho spends 90% of her time sticking half her body out of the tank. And they even have ammo for the machineguns. what purpose does having machineguns serve in a tank if not to kill ppl poking their heads out of the tanks?
>Also what did you think of the movie?
Totsugeki school was goat. nice to see japs acknowledge when they are retarded
>>
Magical, mostly unexplained carbon coating. We all know it's just an excuse. Though it doesn't tank everything seeing how Miho's backstory involves a tank falling into a river and the crew almost drowning.
The movie was pretty much everything I could have asked of it. Aside from maybe the plot being just "we didn't save the school hard enough".

Also, be warned that last time a GuP thread showed up here a MOD actually appeared and moved it to /a/. Crazy, I know, most people think mods are a myth like bigfoot or Santa, but it happened.

Girls with tanks. Whatever. I'll roll.

Then I found out they live on 24 km Super Carriers that have cities on them. I'm not even an engineer and I can tell you what's wrong with that. Real world Super Carriers are approximately 350 m for a reason.

Their sports-use tanks can have thin armor and that carbon-coating enhanced armor can take one hell of a beating from the biggest guns and their heavy ass projectiles without even being damaged in any way.

The same shit, or even something stronger and better, being used for their carriers wouldn't be a stretch.

>rather than building own tank
The australians tried building their own tank, its the Sentinel.

Its pretty decent for a nation with no tank building experience, the gun is more than enough to deal with whatever the japanese could bring to them(Chi-has?)

The Chieftain summed up the reason why they went and built their own tanks pretty nicely
>It was 1940, Brits had no spare production vehicles for them, busy getting wrecked by the germans and replacing those tanks
>US had M2 Mediums, nope
>>
>>14382444
Hedgehogs had a better kill ratio than PIATs tho.
>>
>>14382444
>Carrying a Torpex charge weighing 16 kg (35 lb), each mortar had a diameter of 18 cm (7.1 in) and weighed about 29.5 kg (65 lb).
>Matilda Hedgehogs had 7 of these
>16*7=112kg of torpex high explosive
>fire at japanese bunkers
>what bunkers?
>>
>>14382446
No, the US had M3 Stuarts, not that those were much better, and then the Sherman and IS-3 mozied along and Japan got fucked up the ass
>>
>>14382450
>>14382453
It was still a stupid idea and the guys inside the tank were probably praying to god they didn't get hit by an HE round because well 112kg of torpex would wipe a matilda off the face of the earth
>>
>>14382459

The Sentinel is weird in quite a few ways.

If the shell has sufficient HE filler in it, I don't think it would matter.
And rocket firing tanks are a niche thing, they're cool but not very practical, the calliope never saw widespread service for a number of reasons (logistics being one of them) and the various Russian "rocket artillery tanks" ended up being footnotes compared to the standard truck Katyushas for similar reasons.

Well, it works, and if one of the engines died and you can't fix it, you could disconnect it and run on the remaining two. Then if another engine died, you can disconnect it and run it on the last engine. Its just slower than usual.
In a way, its double redundancy, I guess.

The Matilda had 2 bus engines.

seeing what the needs of the Australian Army were when they were retaking the East Indies, that is, lots of HE to obliterate hardened Japanese positions in the midst of thick jungle, the Matilda Hedgehog is pretty good.

Being depth charges, and heavy, meant that the hedgehog projectiles wouldn't detonate when they hit the tree canopy, and they would partially penetrate the roofs of Japanese bunkers (which were often made out of cut down trees and foliage)

Given scenes such as when Saori talks with Miho in ep.4 and her total disregard for her own safety, I can only conclude that Miho & others are actually superhuman to some extent.

Yukari, for example, can fling around Mako with just one arm and the hikki team got swole enough to toss around 75mm shells singlehandedly in only a few days.

Everyone's also immune to blast, concussion, shrapnel, and have reinforced skeletons.
>>
>>14386254
They were reversing when they made the shot. One thing you have to note is that her head is relatively small compared to the tank, the chances of her head getting hit in the first place is small.

Guns of the era don't have good accuracy on-the-move anyway.

The recently removed WT E100 was a fake. So is the currently still in game GW E100, or the GW Tiger P.

The E-50M is technically a fake, but its heavily based on historical information(And some logical inferring from WG's side) and is a huge "What if?" based on said information.
Its an E-50 with a rear-transmission, they didn't really went into rear-transmissions, but the historical design plans had a hull design for a rear transmission which was about 15 cm longer than the standard hull. Its noted that to accommodate the engine/transmission, the turret have to be moved forward a little as opposed to being in the center like for the other german tanks.
The in-game E-50M is 15cm longer, and the turret is slightly further forward.

Kuromorimine's Tiger 1s are probably reserved for the Nishizumis only, considering that Erika, who took over as captain in LA2, still commands from her Tiger 2.

It has to be tall like KV-2 or she won't like it. Nonna would be awesome on it.

The Otaku Club turning into the fitness club was great. They realized that they would need bigger guns for this one.

Some tanks have such light armor that machine guns can penetrate. I assumed they were kept in because the tanks can register all crew killed and surrender the tank.

Co-axial MGs can be used for ranging shots.

I remember saw it in /a/ few days ago, But can anyone repost that mock Wiki battle details about the movie battle with the university team and the Ooarai United Front?

It's even weirder when you consider how they feature the specific scene from Kelly's Heroes where that happens.

Perfectly summarizes the bazooka's combat debut, because we DIDN'T BOTHER TO TRAIN OUR GRUNTS HOW TO USE THEM! All we ended up doing was give the krauts something to reverse engineer and use against us, though not before making it so that it could actually do damage to an armored target.
>>
>>14382459
>not that those were much better

They were WORSE because we had to make tanks with the most retarded and needlessly overly tall target profiles as though we were trying to overcompensate for the impotent firepower of the guns we stuck on them.

while the Stuart may have sucked against the Germans, they were at least the equal of the Chi-ha, and served the Army and Marines well in the pacific due to their light weight making them more mobile than the Shermans and Lees

They explain it in the show, but that explanation is complete bullshit. They have magical bullets that cannot directly or indirectly hurt people, but are otherwise every bit as destructive as they should be.

In the past they were able to get to the semifinals by charging somehow, so that's all they do now. Hopefully after the movie they grow a bit.

>>14383540
Why do you think Mika said the plan was pointless? The Karl only has enough armor to protect against small arms, I'm sure even the tankette would have been able to penetrate it if they had aimed someplace other than the thickest part of the vehicle.
