It's a super real robot show faggot get it right.

Should we try to make a Unicorn Colony Lazer bait image?
>>
Well it's not like Gundam's any more realistic than Mazinger- anyone who claims mecha are realistic are just trying to defend themselves, but once you admit that they're not realistic then you can just roll with it.

The 'real' aspect is that Mobile Suits are treated as military hardware and equipment, as opposed to superheroes.

So it's exactly like Mazinger.

Show me the mass produced mazingers in service with a military then, or the contractor that developed them.

Go ahead, I'll wait.

Show me the mass produced Gundams.
No, not fucking GMs. Gundams.

Show me one real life example of a prototype of a military vehicle being markably more proficient than the actually finalized version.
>>
>>14329033
Would people even watch a "real robot" series with the protagonist in charge of a plausible piece of hardware like a tank or a drone?
>>
>>14329041
Ground Type.
>>
>>14329048
The ground type Gundam was even shittier than a GM you newfag 08thbaby.

VOTOMS isn't real robot now too?

X-35 could and did VTOL, while the production F-35B has to settle for a short takeoff and a vertical landing.
>>
>>14329128
I hate the F-35, but that really shouldn't count.
Not him either
>>
It's not a war of super robots. It's robot wars that are super.
>>
>>14329171
But in real robot series, it's the war that is real, rather than the robots. If the war is super, then it's not real robot.

In one area. Meanwhile the F-35B is combat-ready while the X-35 was basically just built to VTOL.

Probably. That sounds fresh.
>>
>>14329203
That's what a prototype is. It's built to prove a concept and assist in development and testing, not to be a highly effective war machine.

But my example shows that a prototype might lose features or capabilities on the way to becoming a production model. This can happen for many reasons, including budget limitations, changes in requirements, reliability issues, performance trade-offs and more.

This normally happens on a scale too small to be very notable, since the really big fuckups tend to take the project down with them and leave no opening for a production model. The F-35 is special in that it's of public interest and also too big to fail, making the production issues both notable and non-terminal to the project.

>Scored more kills than a GM
From the same OVA where a Ball Type-K beats a high-mobility Zaku II in single combat. If the 08th MS team was given Ground GMs they'd still be getting kills.
>It's what's gundam's like without plot extra superduper armor aka Luna titanium
Quote from an old mechanic file"
"Expensive: the RGM-79 GM couldn't be made from this armor because it required a long time to refine and extract the ore, which made it impractical for mass production. Even though the mass-produced RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Types were armored with Luna titanium alloy, it was only in the vital areas that this durable alloy could be found."
>More armaments
The only things a Ground Gundam has on a Ground GM weapon-wise is the torso mounted multi-launcher (named due to being able to use non-combat projectiles like flares) and the ever so useful vulcan cannons. Everything else is shared between it and the GM Ground.
>Shitter than GM
Actually, kind of. Despite being slightly heavier (Ground GM: 53.8 metric tons - Ground Gundam: 52.8 metric tons) having a weaker reactor (GM : 1150 kW - Gundam: 1350 kW) and having smaller thrusters (GM: 49000 kg - Gundam: 52000 kg) it still manages to be faster (GM 0.74G max thrust to Gundam's 0.71G). Also it has slightly better sensor range at 6000m to the Gundam's 5900m. It isn't exactly blowing it out of the water but it does have a little bit of an edge.
