You can tell how much plot the series has or not by who they're fighting in the promo.

Crossbone Gundam is seen fighting something from it's series. It's easy to suspect it has plot in it.
Zambot 3 is seen fighting whatever. It's got no plot.
Daitarn 3 is seen fighting a tank from it's series. It's got plot.
ZZ Gundam is seen fighting a Zaku III, not in Sleeves colors. It probably has some plot in it.

Exceptions are for series that have been around enough, and they just toss their grunts into another group. Destiny Gundam fighting against one of those MAs? Not even a Destroy Gundam? I'm betting there's no plot here.
